Chapter 338
Lea’s eyelashes fluttered. She turned around and turned on the lamp on the table. Then she unlocked the drawer with her fingerprint, took out a document, and handed it to Alfred.
It was the DNA test results for herself, Willow, Christian, and Ewan, which she had previously requested Lorrand to perform.
Alfred frowned and opened the document under the desk lamp’s light, and his gaze quickly focused.
Just as he had guessed, Joey was indeed related to Lea by blood, making him the only relative she currently knew of.
“The people who attacked Joey are all top–notch experts,” Lea said.
Alfred nodded as he was aware of that.
If Norman hadn’t rushed over back then, Lorrand and the others wouldn’t have been able to escape.
Joey wasn’t just injured. He was poisoned by a virus,” Lea concluded.
To ensure a guaranteed kill, the Rizzo family had arranged a double assassination.
Lea continued, “If I hadn’t stepped in, he would have died.”
Joey was severely injured in the attack and became a vegetable. After more than a year of treatment in the hospital, he died. No one would discover the virus and that the Rizzo family was behind it.
At this point, Alfred completely understood that the real target of the Rizzo family was Lea.
“Lea…” Alfred’s tone was growing more serious.
“I’ve just found out about this. I know too little and haven’t prepared for it. I don’t want you to be exposed in danger,” Lea explained, understanding why he was upset.
“Alfred, your safety is more important than anything.” She wrapped her arms around his neck again and said seriously.
Alfred’s throat tightened. Thinking about the things he couldn’t tell her, he had no intention of blaming her. His eyes turned red.
“Lea, your safety is also more important to me than anything.” Alfred caressed her cheek and said, “You need to remember that, okay?”
They shared the same feelings and understood each other completely. She nodded.
“Joey and I have our backgrounds tied to the National Military Aviation Research Center, but I don’t understand the- connection to the Rizzo family. One thing is certain though. They want to kill us,” Lea said.
A trace of worry flashed in her eyes. Even though it was a matter of life and death, she didn’t know why they were targeting her.
Alfred looked at her closely. Over the past six months, she had grown a lot. Other than her height, her facial features and shape had changed significantly. Her features had become more refined. Her nose seemed to be more prominent, and the corners of her eyes had widened. She looked more exquisite and radiant.
Her eyes were deep and alluring, making his heart flutter.
“They are our mortal enemies,” Alfred said. His eyes were as deep as a bottomless abyss that devoured everything.

Chapter 338
He would destroy anyone who threatened Lea’s life.
Lea was stunned for a moment and quickly got hold of herself.
“Buzz- Suddenly, her phone rang.
Lea’s heart sank. A call in the dead of night surely meant something had gone wrong.
She got up and picked up the phone on the desk.
Quicksilver’s voice was heard. “Lea, it’s me.” He was breathing heavily, and his anxious voice was filled with anxiety and despair. “We’ve been attacked! I just escaped from the building, but I might not be able to shake them off…”
Lea’s pupils constricted. “Quicksilver, activate the drone. We’ll come to get you.”
“Oh, okay.” Quicksilver was focused on running for his life. His mind was in tumult, so he could only listen to her.
Lea continued, “Throw away your phone and try to get to a place with more people.”
“Got it,” answered Quicksilver.
After hanging up, Lea immediately dialed another number.
Dark Union’s base was located in a commercial building near the underground fighting arena. Lea had planned to visit long ago but had been held up by other matters.
Unexpectedly, their base had been attacked.
Lea first called Ralph who was in charge of the security of the boxing arena along with his security team. Yannis was recuperating in the hospital and couldn’t be there, but he had been managing security on–site.
Lea gave Ralph the address and asked him to bring everyone to the base to check the situation.
Then, she called Jason. “Jason, inform Vincent and Luke to mobilize everyone. Set off now. I’ll send you the address right away.”
After hanging up, she quickly took a brand–new phone from the drawer, turned it on, and connected it to the drone. Soon, the target location appeared on the screen.
Drones were used by the union for reconnaissance and tracking among many other functions, and had been built with the most advanced technology in the world.
After she joined, she integrated artificial intelligence into the flight control system, developing state–of–the–art drones, which were now proving indispensable.
After making these arrangements, Lea turned to look at Alfred and was about to explain.
However, Alfred said before she did, “Come on, I’ll go with you.
From her three phone calls, he had already guessed most of what was happening. Since she needed to go out, he certainly would accompany her.
“Okay, Lea nodded and followed him.
As they headed out, Alfred called Craig, instructing him to coordinate with Lea’s actions.
They took the elevator, went straight to the underground parking lot, and got into Lea’s Mercedes–Benz. Without wasting a second, Alfred drove out.
