Before Jane continued, Abigail interrupted, "Okay, enough of all this chit-chat. Let's get back to work now. Didn't you say everyone was on the alert? Hurry up and work!" Abigail urged.
Jane nodded and acted accordingly without asking more questions.
Abigail went back as well. However, as soon as she opened the design drawing, Liam's expression just now popped up in her mind...
He did look like a stranger to her.
Abigail found it difficult to describe her feeling at the moment.
She didn't know how to get along with Liam every time she thought of what he had said last time. Maybe she was supposed to let it be.
They should keep a distance.
That was the best way for both of them.
Thinking of this, Abigail forced herself to concentrate on the work.
When Abigail and Jane had lunch in the restaurant, Jane gossiped about Liam again.
"This is weird. Why didn't Mr. Jones lose his temper when he came back?" Jane said.
Abigail was eating when she heard these words. She asked smilingly, "Why should he?"
"Well, in the past, Mr. Jones would become extremely irritable if you were now around. But this time he didn't!" Jane replied.
She specifically emphasized that Liam used to change because of Abigail.
Abigail paused for a moment and then continued eating. "Aren't you relieved that he could control himself this time?"
"Yes, but I still think it's weird!" Jane said.
Abigail ate and didn't say anything.
Something occurred to Jane suddenly. She leaned over to Abigail, gossiping. "Abigail, Olive didn't come to work today. Did you notice that?"
Abigail nodded.
