On the way back to the company...
Winnie was immersed in her thoughts. Although she had known the reason, she couldn’t think of a solution.
That woman surely was important to Brian. Otherwise, Brian wouldn’t have loved her to such an extent. Neither would he have explained to her in advance that there was no future for the two of them.
What should she do? How should she communicate with Brian? She didn’t care about how many women Brian had ever had. But she couldn’t see Luke being ruined because of a woman.
That evening, Brian didn’t go to Winnie's place. Instead, he went back to his home. He had to talk to Penny.
When he returned home, Brian felt that it didn’t look like a home at all. He used to like this villa. However, at this time, he felt that it wasn’t the same as Winnie's house on the 18th floor which made him rest-assured and peaceful.
Penny was quite excited about Brian's sudden return. And she couldn't recall how long it had been since Brian had been here the last time.
They finished dinner together, sat on the sofa in the living room, and watched the news on TV. Although there was no communication between them during dinner and there was a certain distance between the two of them while watching TV, Penny couldn’t contain her happiness.
Penny found a topic to break the silence, "Brian, do you want some coffee? I'll go prepare some for you."
"No need."
Brian's voice was unusually cold.
Penny continued to show her goodwill, "How about a cup of tea?"
Brian loudly refused, "I said no."
After all, he didn't come back here to drink tea today.
"Penny, I want to ask you something. Winnie received an email indicating that the sender's address was here. Can you explain it to me?"
Brian's face was gloomy. And he stared straight at Penny gloomily.
Then he saw that Penny's face suddenly changed and that she had a fluttered look in her eyes.
A moment later...
"I don't understand what you're talking about. What kind of email did she receive? And how could it be sent from us here?"
Penny's voice trembled a little. And despite her efforts to conceal it, she exposed herself.
Brian saw all Penny's reaction. And because of this, his black eyes were even more bitter.
Brian roared loudly and angrily, "You don't understand. In that case, do you want me to check your computer?"
And his eyes were dark and frightening.
"I indeed..."
"Don't get lucky. I can find it as well even if you delete it."
Brian angrily interrupted Penny's words, leaving Penny speechless. And she dared not to look up at Brian.
"Penny, I'm telling you, put your little tricks away. No matter what your reason for doing so is, you're affecting my private life."
"Listen to me, I'm giving you one last chance. If you're making the same mistake, don't blame me for being unkind. Penny, you should understand that I never give others a chance easily."
Brian got up and left with a big stride after his angry warning.
If it weren't for his grandfather's acquisition plan, he wouldn't have tolerated Penny for a second. And he wouldn't have given her a chance twice, let alone warning her only.
Penny, who was timid, felt relieved after Brian left. But then, a sinister look burst out of her eyes. How could she give it up? How could she watch Brian be snatched away by Winnie?
The more Brian favored Winnie, the more aggressive she would become. She could get lost. But she could never be defeated by Winnie. Even if it was a fight to the death, she had to fight to the end.
Brian drove away alone and naturally came to the downstairs of Winnie's house as if he had naturally gone back to his own home. After the car was parked, he was about to get out of the car. Then, Albert's call came.
"President Bennet, Calvin, and Morgan are both off the plane. Should they see you now?"
"No. Tell them to get ready to be on duty tomorrow."
Brian originally wanted to see them. But at this moment, he couldn't leave since he had already arrived at Winnie's house. And he had already made the decision, making the discussion no longer needed.
By the time Brian came back, the child had fallen asleep. And Winnie was lying in bed, intending to rest. She was quite surprised to see Brian come back.
Winnie asked in confusion, "Why did you come back?"
Brian had said he was going home and wouldn’t come back today. So what happened?
"I couldn't sleep over there. So I came back."
As Brian spoke, he came to the bed and sat down. He had unconsciously called his home "the place over there" without realizing it.
"Have you eaten dinner?"
Brian's answer made Winnie a little surprised. And at the same time, she felt a kind of inexplicable joy.
"Yes."
Brian took a deep breath and comfortably laid down next to Winnie.
"Then rest. It's not early."
Winnie moved to the side a little so that Brian could lie in bed more comfortably. Unexpectedly, Brian embraced her in his arms.
"What are you doing again? We can't do anything when I have my period."
Thinking that Brian was going to do something bad again, Winnie hurriedly opened her mouth to say she was inconvenienced.
"I didn't want to do anything to you. Let’s just sleep like this."
Brian whispered. He found that he was in a situation when he couldn't sleep without Winnie by his side. Could he leave Winnie if this kind of situation going on?
