Rufus said in a deep and steadfast voice, but Isobel did not feel it but shocked.

“Why is it so sudden? Winwin did not tell me.”

“It was Brain’s meaning and it is good for Megan. The reason is complex, but please believe it is the best for Megan. My father recognizes her and no one would dare do anything to her.”

Then he continued.

“Winnie did not tell you because she was afraid that you would be worried and get back early. She said she would explain to you when you are back.”

Rufus told her thoroughly, because his family was complicated and it needed time to explain in details, and Isobel would feel incredible and could not understand.

“Since then, why did you tell me? Can’t you tell me when I am back? Not how can I stay here?”

Isobel felt uneasy. She did know what would change to Winnie and if she got hurt.

She asked.

“How is Winnie, can she be with two children now?”

She asked with concern and Rufus felt bad too.

“Winwin doesn’t know I call you, I want you to be prepared. If you can stay there, come back, one day you have to face it.

Rufus called because he missed Isobel and wanted her to go back early, so that he could see her.
