Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father novel Chapter 109

  1. Emily’s Disappointment

Slowly, Kara lowered her head. She couldn’t look her son straight in the eye. “Mommy was also surprised when Mommy met him at the office, Louis.”

“But Mommy said that our Daddy had died. Why did Mommy lie? Is it because Mommy didn’t have the heart to tell us that our Daddy

w was a bad person?”

Kara got tightness in her chest. She took a breath, but her lungs only got hotter. She was really confused about how to explain.

“Actually…,” she swallowed hard and looked out the window, “our meeting was accidental. At that time, we didn’t know each other, let

alone love each other. When he left, we didn’t even know each other’s

names.”

“You two didn’t get to know each other yet?” Louis sighed with round

eyes.

Kara took a deep breath then returned her gaze to her son. “Yes,

Mommy only found out his name on the first day at Savior. But… he didn’t remember Mommy.”

Louis’ eyebrows immediately dropped. “How could he forget? Isn’t he our Daddy? He should remember that he planted us in Mommy’s belly.”

Kara laughed sadly. Stroking Louis’ cheek, she shook her head slightly. “Maybe because at that time, Mommy’s face was messy with make-up. So, he didn’t remember.”

Louis’ cheeks puffed up. Her lips pursed tightly. “Frank Harper is such a bad Daddy. He should be looking for his children. How could he forget us? Even the mother duck always checks on her ducklings.”

Kara took another deep breath, keeping herself alert. The twins could be devastated if she failed to sort out the information from that

unwanted night.

“Who knows? Maybe, he was too busy thinking about his company. So, his memory is not that good.”

“Then why didn’t Mommy tell him? Mommy could say that we are Mommy’s children. He might immediately remember,” Louis said, nodding slightly.

Kara bit her lip. Her eyes trembled looking for a way to make an excuse. “He already has a fiancée, Louis. Mama felt bad if their relationship became broken. You don’t want Mommy to be slapped like Brandon’s second girlfriend, right?”

“But Mr. Harper is our Daddy. Mommy has more rights to be his girlfriend. He should be with Mommy. That fierce woman is the one who should be slapped.”

Kara was stunned to hear Louis’ words. She almost thought that life

was that simple.

“You think so?” She turned the question around. That’s the most effective way to avoid the real answer.

“Yes!” Louis said firmly. “And I think both Mister Harpers would agree.”

Kara widened her eyes, stunned. “Both… Mister Harper?”

Louis nodded innocently. “I don’t like him, but I think Young Master Harper likes Mommy. He did many things to get close to Mommy. He even said he wanted to break up with his girlfriend and marry Mommy.”

“And another one?”

“That kind grandfather! Doesn’t he like us? I don’t think he would mind

Kara gaped wordlessly. She really didn’t expect Louis to think that positively about Rowan.

“But before that,” Louis interrupted his mother’s thoughts, “Young Master Harper must pay for his mistakes first. How could he forget kids as cute as us? He didn’t even look for us all this time. We have to punish him first before he can marry Mommy.”

“What punishment do you want to give?” Kara asked stiffly.

The toddler boy nodded. When Kara passed through the door, he quickly whispered, “Emily, why are you still angry? Mommy has explained the reason. In my opinion, that’s not a big problem.”

“But still, our Daddy is a bad person. If we didn’t move here, he definitely wouldn’t be looking for us.” Emily finally let out her thin, shaky voice.

“But it’s not Mommy’s fault.”

“Mommy was guilty too! If Mommy hadn’t let Daddy go in the first place, we wouldn’t have separated like this!”

Emily burst into tears. Her cry made Louis wince.

“Did I say something wrong?” he muttered to himself. Not knowing what else to say, he grabbed Emily’s handkerchief and wiped her

tears.

When Kara came in, Emily’s cries were still shrill. After placing the tray on the table, she climbed onto bed, hugging the heartbroken toddler.

“Little Bee, why are you crying?” She moved Emily to her lap then patted her back.

Louis, who was still holding the handkerchief, frowned. “I just coaxed her a little, but she started crying.”

Still with a crumpled face, Kara forced a smile. “It okay, Louis. You have done the best. Thank you, Hero.”

The toddler nodded then got out of the bed. While occasionally glancing at Emily, he moved to his place. “Why is she so whiny? Tsk, looks like I’m going to have trouble sleeping again tonight.”

Kara kept hugging Emily. She rubbed her back, stroking her hair gently. In her heart, she didn’t stop apologizing, hoping that Emily would soon stop crying and be able to smile again.
