S31 102. Wrong Way
Seeing Frank’s phone screen, Kara also widened her eyes. “Isn’t it already late there?”
Louis blinked while chewing his food. “Who’s calling, Mommy?”
“Grandma Diana,” Frank said before picking up the phone. “Hello?”
“Frank!”
Frank spontaneously took the phone away from his ear. “What’s wrong, Grandma? Why are you shouting like that?”
“Why didn’t you guys tell me anything? No wonder I couldn’t sleep
these two days. I was learning to use the internet earlier. Suddenly, articles about you appeared.”
“Calm down, Grandma. Don’t panic yet. Everything is under control. Kids are fine. They are eating well right now.”
“Where are they?”
Frank turned on speaker mode. “Kids, Grandma wants to tau.”
Louis quickly swallowed the food in his mouth. “Grandma!”
Emily, who was still chewing, could only wave her hand.
“Louis, how are you, Darling? Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, Grandma. Don’t worry. I’m very healthy. How are you, Grandma? You are healthy too, right?”
“Yes, I’m fine. Just not getting enough sleep. Are you sure you’re fine? You’re not lying, right?”
Louis chuckled. “I’m an honest kid, Grandma. How could I lie to you?”
“Thank goodness you’re okay. Where is Emily?”
The little girl’s smile brightened. “I’m here, Grandma.” She raised one hand, even though Diana didn’t see.
“How are you, Emily? Are you okay too?”
“Yeah,” Emily nodded cutely. Her right hand poked the pudding with a spoon. “I was afraid that Mrs. Moore would invade my dreams. Luckily, she didn’t come. Daddy had strengthened his troops around the gate. She definitely wouldn’t dare come any closer.”

Diana sighed in relief. “Oh, my poor great-grandchildren. I’m grateful that you’re okay. Next time, please don’t hide anything from me. Even though I’m old, I can still fight criminals.”
Suddenly, the twins giggled.
“I can imagine Grandma coming with a horse.”
“Then the horse kicked our enemies one by one.”
While the two toddlers played with their imaginations, Kara spoke up. Grandma, since you already know the condition of the twins lease don’t get carried away anymore.”
“Kara is right. Don’t sleep late again, Grandma.”
“If you want me to sleep regularly, don’t play secret games with anymore. Understand? I’m sensitive. If someone in my family is having problems, I can feel it.”
Frank and Kara exchanged glances. The curves of their lips were both small and full of meaning.
“Okay, Grandma. Forgive us. Now go to sleep. It’s already night there, right?”
“I still wanted to chat with you. You told me to sleep?” Diana

grumbled.
Emily lowered her eyebrows at that, “Grandma, don’t be sad. We can talk again tomorrow.”
“Yes, wait for us to come home from school or finish work.” Louis nodded before returning to eating the pudding.
“Or next time, let’s just make a video call. We can see Grandma’s face and Grandma can see ours. You won’t miss us so much.” Emily shook her head slightly.
Diana’s laughter sounded light. “My great-grandchildren are really sweet. I can’t wait to see you again. It feels like my hands are itching to pinch your cheeks.”
Emily chuckled. Meanwhile, Louis was swallowing his pudding again.
“Be patient, Grandma. Wait another two months. We’ll meet at Auntie’s wedding.” Louis straightened his index and middle finger.
At that moment, Eva entered the dining room with Mrs. Connor. Her gestures were relaxed, as if she hadn’t been crying or fighting. Her eyes were no longer red. Only the lids were slightly swollen.
When the phone conversation ended, Eva lightly asked, “Y
mentioned a wedding several times. Whose wedding party
mean? You seem very enthusiastic.
Ava glanced slightly. Not wanting to interfere, she focused on the food on her plate.
“Barbara and Philip’s wedding,” Kara answered, without further ado.
Eva’s mouth rounded. “Since you invited Ava, can I come along? I can act as Ava’s companion. Without me, you can be sure she will come. alone. She has never had a boyfriend or been close to any man.”
Everyone blinked. Only Jeremy showed a different expression. He

was more interested in facts about Ava’s romantic history than Eva’s
bad attitude.
“The bride and groom are not here. I don’t think it would be
appropriate if we invited you. However, I can tell them to add your name to the list of invited guests.” Kara nodded politely.
Eva’s eyes lit up. “Really? Wow, thank you very much, Mrs. Harper. That’s really generous of you.”
Kara could only smile awkwardly, while Frank looked down,
scratching his temple. In his heart, he hoped that Eva would not take advantage of his wife’s kindness.
Unfortunately, after leaving Jeremy’s residence, Eva started to think about that cunning thought.
“If Ava can take advantage of them, then so can I,” she smiled crookedly. “I won’t let the Harper family be unfair. They consider Aval family, so they should consider me part of them too.”
A second later, the curve of her lips turned down. Her eyes flashed
beneath the high arch of her eyebrows.
“They think they can set Ava up with Mr. Filthy Rich?” Folding arms, she snorted lightly. “I won’t let it happen. Ava can’t liv
me.”
Tapping her finger on her arm, Eva strategized. However, when t taxi turned onto the road opposite to her house, everything in her
mind was shattered.
“Sir,” she leaned forward in her seat, “why are we going this way?”
“There was an accident that way, Miss. The road is blocked, so we have to go around.”
