His Eagle Eyes on Me novel Chapter 2986

A while later, Fergus arrived at Shelly's apartment in his car.

Shelly stepped outside of her room with Audrey and a bagful of her things.

Shelly's mother heard the commotion and stepped out of her own room. "What's wrong, Shelly?"

"Mom, Audrey is burning up. I'm taking her to a hospital. Go back to sleep! I've called Fergus, and he is waiting downstairs." Shelly did not want her mother to stay up. "It's raining heavily, and I don't know if the hospital is packed. Don't worry. Fergus will help, and I can handle it."

"I will walk you downstairs, then." Shelly's mother grabbed an umbrella and exited the apartment with her.

Fergus was waiting outside the entrance of their building, and, as soon as he spotted Shelly and her mother, he hurried over to shield them with his umbrella.

"Aunty, go back and rest! A fever isn't a big deal. I will drive them home once the doctors have had a look at the baby," Fergus said as he helped Shelly into the backseat of his car.

He then reentered the car and started driving toward the hospital.

It was pouring, and there was not a car or passerby in sight.

When the street light turned red, Fergus glanced at the backseat.

"Shelly, is it a girl or a boy?"

Shelly replied, "It's a girl."

"Oh... Your daughter is truly beautiful! Just as beautiful as you," Fergus said, while Audrey, with her big eyes wide open, stared at him.

Though Audrey had a fever at the moment, and her cheeks were flushed red, she neither cried nor fussed. She just kept her big eyes open, looking around.

Shelly could not help but feel a pang of heartache as she watched her daughter.

"Fergus, can you promise not to tell anyone about my daughter? Including your boss," Shelly pleaded. If she had been left with another choice, she would not have asked for his help.

Fergus and Hayden both worked at the same company, and she was worried that the next time they met, Hayden would learn about Audrey's existence.

"Oh, all right. If you don't want me to say anything, I won't. I won't even tell my own family," Fergus assured her. "Doesn't the child have a father? If I were the father of such a beautiful child, I would never abandon her."
