Jovian and Fade exchanged glances as they watched Zamber leave. Moments later, they parted ways.
Before leaving, Fade turned around and thanked Eurika.
After all, judging by the atmosphere of the Great Hsia Domain palace, one could tell that the people here were quite biased against the Chinese. However, Eurika was not, even though she was a member of the royal family. It was because of this that Fade had a different impression of her.
They group soon left the palace.
In the carriage, Fade asked Jovian about Eurika and Zamber.
Jovian was a little surprised, but he still replied respectfully, "Zamber's father is Winston Hsia. He is Mulji's younger brother. He is a high- status individual and was conferred the title of Assistant Duke by Mulji.
He helped deal with the affairs of the entire Great Hsia Domain. Thus, it explains why Zamber had such high status even though he's relatively young."
"Eurika's father is called Ricki Hsia. He's Mulji's cousin, but does not have a close relationship with him. Ricki was talented and gifted, so Mulji thinks highly of him."
"However, for some reason, Ricki and Winston had a fall out. As a result, Ricki was only conferred the title of marquis. His status is lower than that of Winston."
"Other than that, I don't know much about the rest."
Fade listened quietly and said, "That's more than enough."
Eurika and Zamber had only met him once. Fade just wanted to know a little more about them. He wasn't worried about them.
They went back to the hotel and entered the room.
Fade asked, "What did Mulji say at the banquet?"
Jovian's expression changed slightly. He seemed to be a little hesitant, but when he saw Fade's cold and murderous eyes, he immediately said, "Mulji gathered most of his relatives in this banquet.”
"He said that our ancestor's tomb had not been repaired for a long time and was a little shabby, so he wanted to rebuild it again. Unfortunately, he did not have sufficient resources."
"Therefore, he wants to gather all the ministers and rich merchants to donate resources on the day of the sacrificial ceremony."
"The reason why he held this banquet today was so that we can set a good example."
"He wants us to offer at least three Spiritual Meridians for him to rebuild the ancestral tombs."
After hearing this. Fade immediately knew what Mujli wanted. "He wants money."
"Obviously, the so-called reconstruction of the ancestral tombs is just an excuse. Mulji's real purpose is to ask for money and resources from various forces in the mansion."
"As the governor of Great Hsia Domain, he has all the resources in hand. Now, he still wants to use such means to get money. What is he up to?"
Jovian shook his head and said, "We don't know either."
"What do you guys think of this?" asked Fade.
Jovian sighed softly and said, "Mulji clearly wants money, but I'm not sure if everyone is willing to do so."
"Except for Assistant Duke Winston and a few of Mulji's trusted followers, the others did not express their opinions."
"However, Mulji is very firm. He wants us to express our opinions before the sacrificial ceremony. Otherwise, he may take action."
"It's daylight robbery!" Fade narrowed his eyes. "Why is Mulji so anxious?"
Suddenly, a thought came to Fade's mind.
"Could it be..."
"Er..." Jovian looked at Fade in confusion.
Fade did not explain. He got up and was ready to leave.
Seeing this, Jovian hurriedly asked, "Mr. Chen, how should I express my opinion on this matter?"
Fade thought for a moment and said, "Don't say anything just yet. Just drag on for as long as you can."
After leaving the room, Fade found Nile and told him about Mulji's banquet. Then, he told him his opinion.
"I think the reason why Mulji is in such a hurry is because he feels danger is looming. He probably wants to recover his strength as soon as possible."
