The following day.
Margaret woke up early.
She glanced around the empty living room. Then, she realized that the room next to hers was empty too.
Charleston was not home the previous night. Where did he go?
As soon as this thought came to her mind, Margaret shook it away.
"Where he went has nothing to do with you," she thought to herself.
After using the disposable toiletries to wash up, she came to the living room.
The front door opened and Larry walked in.
"Miss Margaret, you are awake. Charleston has asked me to send you home," Larry said.
Margaret looked at Larry and asked quietly, "Where is Charleston?"
"I'm not sure. He only called me," Larry said truthfully.
Margaret nodded and said, "I see."
After Larry sent Margaret back to the apartment, Margaret got a call from Monique.
"Monique," Margaret greeted softly.
Monique noticed that something was off from Margaret's voice. She quickly inquired, "What's wrong? Are you not feeling well?"
"Nothing. Is there anything I can help you with?" Margaret asked curiously.
It was only then did Monique remember why she called. "Margaret, there's a gathering tonight. It's the one I told you about last time."
"Okay, I got it." Margaret nodded. "What time, and where?"
"At the Emperor Hotel. It will start at five in the afternoon. I'll wait for you there," Monique said.
Margaret nodded, "Okay, I'll give you a call once I reach."
"Okay." Monique nodded. Then, she said mysteriously, "I heard that some big shot will be there today."
"A big shot?" Margaret found that a little interesting.
The person who could make upper-class families think that they were a big shot was definitely not an ordinary person.
"Okay, I got it. Don't worry, I will be well prepared," Margaret said with a smile.
...
"Dad." Stephanie came downstairs obediently and noticed Mr. Wayne sitting at a corner. "Hello, Mr. Wayne."
"Yes, so here's the thing. I would like to invite Miss Simons to a banquet tonight," Mr. Wayne said truthfully.
It was definitely not an ordinary banquet if it was an invitation from Mr. Wayne.
Stephanie's eyes suddenly lit up.
If she could attend the banquet, she might gain some benefits from it, or perhaps, some power.
"Okay, I will definitely be there," Stephanie said very excitedly.
Mr. Wayne glanced at Stephanie and added, "We're holding the banquet to welcome Master Sherman. So do dress up nicely, Miss Stephanie. Make sure you don't dress inappropriately."
"Don't worry, I understand." Stephanie was so excited that she was a little speechless when she heard that Master Sherman would be there as well.
She did not expect that such an important person would be present.
Neither did she expect that she'd be personally invited by Master Sherman to this banquet.
