"Are you done? Now get out." Margaret felt her blood boiling inside her. She felt her vision starting to blur.
Stephanie's eyes lit up in joy upon seeing Margaret's reaction.
However, she hid it well. She walked towards Zachary and asked worriedly, "Zac, am I not doing good enough? Is Margaret still blaming me?"
"Stephanie, you're doing great. I believe she will eventually understand what you're doing for her." Zachary looked at Stephanie tenderly.
Stephanie's fake act made Margaret's head ache even more.
The man who vowed to be her one and only had ended up with Stephanie.
Her biological father would rather help an outsider, who he had no relationship with, than her.
All of a sudden, Margaret felt like a failure.
She wanted to escape from everything.
However, the drug's effects were setting in. Margaret took a heavy breath and stepped forward, but her legs became extremely weak. Before long, they gave out below her, causing her to fall forward.
Just as she thought she was going to make a fool of herself, she fell into somebody's embrace.
"Margaret." It was a deep, magnetic voice.
Margaret looked up and saw Charleston's charming face.
For some reason, the moment she saw him, she felt a sudden sadness envelop her. Her eyes were full of tears and she clutched Charleston's arm tightly. "Honey, you're here." She said.
Zachary and Stephanie was shocked at Charleston's appearance.
Did Margaret just call him honey? What was his relationship with her? They wondered.
Charleston's face couldn't be clearly seen under the bad lighting.
Zachary frowned. He had always thought that Margaret still loved him. He didn't think that she would be in an intimate relationship with another man.
"What happened?" Charleston stared at her affectionately.
Margaret's face was a shade of red that didn't seem normal. Her eyes also looked crimson, like eyes of a little white rabbit.
"Can you take me away from here? I'm so uncomfortable." Margaret looked at him pleadingly.
She was not sure whether Charleston would agree to help. After all, they didn't exactly have a great relationship with one another.
