I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 1013

Chapter 1013: Don't Be Hard on Yourself

Yanis nodded, "I just went there too."

Bonnie asked, "What does Uncle Baxter want you to do?"

"To visit her more often and say she doesn't have much time left." Yanis didn't hide anything from Bonnie and recounted today's events truthfully.

After listening to Yanis, Bonnie fell silent for a few seconds before speaking softly, "Yanis, I know you've always struggled with this, but as death approaches, people tend to speak kindly. Without hiding anything, I received a call from Aunt Madison a couple of days ago. Although she didn't explicitly ask me to talk to you, there was a hint that she hoped I could have a good chat with you and persuade you."

Holding a glass of water, Yanis tightened her grip after hearing Bonnie's words, "You don't need to persuade me. I really can't let go of this matter."

In truth, Yanis couldn't quite explain why she could let go of Antonio and even Olivia and Martin, but she couldn't do the same with Madison. Perhaps it was due to the decisions she made before knowing Madison or the hardships she endured in the Thompson family over the years, causing her to unfairly project all her grievances onto Madison alone.

Especially Martin's remark: "She won't marry into a wealthy family if she's with you."

So, no matter what, Yanis couldn't find peace within herself. She had given Madison to Martin and Olivia back then, and over these many years, she hadn't felt a hint of guilt. She hadn't even bothered to inquire about Madison's situation from Martin.

Seeing Yanis like this, Bonnie didn't say much. She gently patted Yanis' shoulder, "If you can't do it, then let it be. Don't be hard on yourself."

Yanis nodded and placed the glass on the table. Glancing at the time, she asked, "When do you finish here?"

Bonnie also checked the time, "Probably in half an hour. Why?"

Yanis shook her head, "Sandy called just now, saying that Stella woke up, but she's not in a good mood. She asked me to go and check on her."

Bonnie responded, "You go and check on her first. If I finish early, I'll come too."

Yanis agreed, "Alright, you focus on your work, and I'll head over."

"Tell Stella that I'm a bit busy here and will visit her after I'm done."

"Okay."

Bonnie accompanied Yanis to the door and watched her drive away before returning to the store to continue her tasks.

"Linda, did Yanis leave?" Linda finished her work and came out, intending to talk to Yanis, but she couldn't find her.

Bonnie continued with her work while responding, "She had something to attend to and left. Do you need to talk to her about something?"

Linda looked at Bonnie with a pleading expression, "Nothing, I just realized it's been a long time since I saw Yanis and wanted to have a chat with her."

Bonnie glanced at Linda, "When I wasn't here, I didn't see you missing me like this."

Linda chuckled, "Boss, you know there's a saying that goes, 'If you're kind to someone without reason, you might be up to no good.'"

Bonnie heard Linda's words and joined in the laughter, "Didn't you just say you had no reason to find Yanis?"

Linda glanced around quickly and leaned closer to Bonnie, whispering, "I want Yanis to help me design a pair of couple rings for Stanley, and I'm hoping for a friend discount."
