I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 1134

Chapter 1134: You've Got Some Nerve

Lorraine always maintained a certain distance from Haider while walking. It was as if they were about to draw a movable boundary line between them.

Haider didn't say anything and let her have her way.

Once they entered the room, Haider glanced around before shutting the door and leaning against the side. He looked at Lorraine and asked, "Can you spare ten minutes?"

Lorraine turned around with an annoyed expression to look at Haider, who was standing at the doorway. "What ten minutes?"

"To pack your things," Haider replied.

Lorraine remained silent and didn't start packing.

Haider wasn't in a rush either. He casually remarked, "If we were to dawdle for an hour, how do you think Eduard would feel?"

When Lorraine heard Haider's words, she couldn't help but think of his previous comment, "You didn't even feel uncomfortable when my entire weight was on you."

Her face turned completely red, and she glared at Haider fiercely. "You shameless jerk!"

Haider chuckled lightly. "Shouldn't you start packing? Otherwise, I'll show you what real shamelessness looks like."

Lorraine knew that Haider was a person with two sides. In front of others, he always seemed aloof and gentlemanly, giving off an air of sophistication. But only she knew that Haider was fundamentally shameless.

Lorraine didn't dare provoke the slightly tipsy Haider, so she reluctantly began to pack her things.

She didn't bring much back with her. Apart from clothes and skincare products, there weren't many clothes she had brought. She had a habit of buying new things whenever she wanted and had never lived on her own before.

When she had been with Haider years ago, he had arranged everything for her, from her basic needs to her daily life. Even though so many years had passed, this habit of hers hadn't changed; it had just shifted from Haider to Mrs. Kipling.

Lorraine quickly packed her things and turned to look at Haider, who was still standing by the door. She pushed her suitcase towards him. "Carry this."

Haider reached out and grabbed the handle of the suitcase, looking at her. "Is that all?"

Lorraine answered with an "Hmm" and retorted, "Are you going to leave now or not?"

Haider motioned for her hand, indicating what he wanted.

Lorraine stood still for a moment before walking closer and handing him her hand.

Haider held Lorraine's hand and turned to walk out of the room.

After a few steps, Lorraine glanced at Haider's face. "Are you going to live here alone?"

Haider nodded. "I bought a house a few years ago, in the area you used to like."

Lorraine's expression froze for a moment when she heard Haider's words, but she didn't show any other reaction on her face. She didn't ask further questions either. Compared to the commotion earlier, both Haider and Lorraine were quiet on the way back.

The two of them sat straight without getting too close to each other.

Eduard was quite nervous, sitting in the driver's seat. He felt like the atmosphere in the car was tense, but strangely enough, the two people in the back seat seemed unaffected.

The car started again, and Eduard stepped on the gas pedal.

"Why the rush? Something wrong?" Haider's voice suddenly came from behind.

Eduard jumped in surprise and then replied, "Ah, yes, there's a little something. I got a call from home saying my mom ate too much tonight."

As soon as he finished speaking, Eduard wished he could bite his own tongue off.

"Pull over, you take a cab back, I'll drive myself," Haider said.

"You've been drinking. Can you drive?" Before Eduard could say anything, Lorraine's voice came first.

Haider turned to look at her. "Then will you drive?"

"I won't! I'm not familiar with Manches City."

"I'll teach you."

After saying that, Haider opened the car door and got out.
