Yanis was standing at the door, with one hand holding the door handle. She calmly looked at him, "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Lawrence care. But I am just an ordinary woman, I am not so delicate."
Listening to Yanis's words, Zane frowned, "Yanis, I..."
"Zane, can I beg you something?" Yanis said in a low voice, but her voice was mixed with sobs, "Please let me go, will you?"
Zane had been used to Yanis's obedience, forbearance and composure, looking at her with eyes red, and the pain on her face, he was stunned.
For the first time, Zane had an overwhelming sense of fear.
It was even more overwhelming than the one he had had in D-king Castle, when she turned around and left without saying a word.
It was like something he had been holding in his hand suddenly broke free and wanted to escape him.
Even thought Yanis was right there in front of him, he felt so far away from her as if there was a huge gap between the two of them.
Neither he nor she could cross it.
He had been so used to her and now the difference was somewhat unacceptable for Zane.
After what had happened today, Zane felt that everything was moving in a direction in which he had lost all control.
"Mr. Lawrence, we are closing, if there's nothing else."
Then Yanis closed the one half of the door, and as she was about to close the other door, Zane raised his hand and stopped it. "Yanis."
Yanis was stunned and looked at him, "Mr. Lawrence, what can I do for you?"
Zane looked at Yanis's expressionless face and hesitated before saying, "I was here today. But I got caught by something and left before I could talk to you. I heard from Bonnie that Neve talked to you today?"
After hearing Zane's words, Yanis released her hand on the door handle. "Yes, she was here."
"What did she say to you?" asked Zane.
Thinking of what Neve had said, Yanis couldn't help sneering slightly, "You wouldn't want to know what she has said to me."
"Yanis, I have told you I would handle it. She and I..."
"Zane."
Yanis interrupted him and called him by his name.
After that, Yanis paused for a few seconds, took a deep breath, looked into his eyes and said, "I am done waiting or trying."
"Zane, let's just have the closure. I don't want to prolong this anymore."
"I don't want to make things look bad, so, Zane, sign on it and we will have nothing to do with each other."
"I'll go to the Lawrence Group to see you tomorrow morning."
After that, without waiting for Zane to say anything, Yanis quickly closed the door, and then walked in without turning back.
Zane stood at the door, looking at the back of Yanis. He couldn't describe his feelings and only felt empty inside.
The endless emptiness...
His phone rang at this time, as if urging him.
Zane looked back, took out his phone to look at the caller ID. He frowned upon seeing the caller.
Zane hesitated for a moment before answering the phone, "What is it?"
"Zane, you withdrew the investment?" Neve seemed to be questioning him.
When he heard Neve's words, Zane understood what Neve was saying. "No."
"Then why didn't I get the role of the heroine?"
Zane looked back inside the studio again and walked to his car, "Neve, I can't help you with the audition. You lost in your acting skills, that's not my fault."
