Zane raised his eyebrows when Yanis said this. "Are you going to live here?"
Yanis didn't deny it nor admit it either. "Mr. Lawrence, this is my own business."
Zane strode up to her, looking at her meaningfully, and said faintly, "Yanis, we haven't divorced yet."
After hearing Zane's words, the first thing Yanis thought of was what happened at the gate of the mall today. She couldn't help but be terrified, just for a moment. She looked at the man's dark eyes, "So?"
"So, you should stay away from other men!"
Yanis somehow wanted to laugh when she heard this, and she did.
Yanis's laugh changed Zane's expression a little. His dark eyes fell on Yanis, seemingly looking right through her.
Yanis stopped laughing and looked up at Zane. "Doesn't Mr. Lawrence think it's funny to talk like that? If I'm still married, then what about you?"
Zane's face changed slightly. He looked at Yanis, trying to say something, but could't find the right words.
The two of them stood staring at each other in the empty living room.
Finally, Yanis looked away and stepped out, "If Mr. Lawrence wants to stay here, stay here, but close the door when you leave."
Yanis only took two steps and she was hugged by the man from behind. His warm breath was blowing in her ears, making Yanis feel stiff for a moment. She asked, "Zane, what are you doing?"
"Yanis, we..."
A sudden ring interrupted what Zane was trying to say afterward.
Yanis broke away from Zane and took out her phone to answer the call.
Since it was from an unknown caller. Yanis's voice was not gentle and even a little cold. "Hello?"
There was a second of silence. "Miss Thompson? This is Iris."
Yanis softened a little her tone when she heard this. "Mr. Duncan, are you back?"
Iris' gentle voice on the other side of the phone said, "Miss Thompson, I'm sorry, but I may be a little late. I'll bring your things to you tomorrow morning. Will you be in Linen Bay tomorrow?"
Yanis answered directly, "yes, you can send me a message and I will come."
"Ok, sorry about that."
"It's all right."
"Thanks for helping me pick stuff today, Miss Thompson. Magnus said if you're free tomorrow night, you and Miss Cooke should come over to his place for dinner."
Yanis hesitated. "I'll get back to you tomorrow, because Bonnie may be tied up for a couple of days."
Iris responded, "okay, we'll be in touch tomorrow, so I'll leave you alone."
"Ok," Iris said.
After hanging up, Yanis put away her phone and walked out.
Zane followed her as she walked down the stairs and out of the elevator. Zane reached for Yanis's arm and said, "I'll drive you there."
Yanis pulled her hand back. "No, I drove Bonnie's car."
"Yanis."
"What's wrong?"
When Yanis stared at Zane, he couldn't say what he was planning to say.
The two men remained silent.
In the end, Yanis said nothing, turned around, and walked towards the parking direction.
Zane didn't follow her this time. He just stood there and watched Yanis drive away.
In fact, after calming down, he didn't know why he asked Albi to check Yanis's location. He forgot what he came to tell her in such a hurry.
On his way here, he had a lot to say.
