Chapter 444 I just don't want my future to be without Bonnie
Isabel said with a smile, "Myles, I know that you and your brother are doing very well now. This money is just a drop in the bucket for you. If you help me once, it's the same as helping Bonnie, right?"
"Bonnie said she gave me all her money. Even if I really go to her again, she has no more. But if you pay for her, then I won't bother her anymore. Isn't it the same?"
Isabel's words sounded righteous, and there was a bit of a threat to Myles in her words.
Isabel knew how much Myles loved Bonnie.
It was because of Myles' concern for Bonnie that Isabel gave them Myles' phone number instead of Bonnie's after losing money in the underground bank and owing money to loan sharks.
But Isabel still had a bit of conscience left.
She knew that the people of the underground bank and those who lent her money weren't pushovers, so she did not give them Bonnie's phone number.
Instead, she gave Myles'.
This was something that Isabel knew in her heart and Myles was clear of it as well.
But it was also fortunate that Isabel chose to call him first, otherwise if Isabel had turned to Bonnie first, Myles might have really gone crazy.
"I'll be there in a minute."
Myles didn't say anything more to Isabel and hung up the phone.
Evan looked at him, "You should be glad she has a conscience. If she was crazy enough to give Bonnie's address and numbers to those people, the consequences would be unthinkable."
Myles listened to Evan and whispered, "She's hopeless!"
Evan said, "Honestly, are you helping Bonnie for her sake, or do you have other plans?"
"What do you mean?"
"You don't hate her? After all, Uncle and Auntie, they ..."
Evan did not say the remaining words outwardly, but what he wanted to express was clear.
Myles was silent for a few seconds and said in a low voice, "That kind of thing couldn't have happened if they hadn't betrayed their partners and had an affair."
Evan listened to Myles and raised his eyebrows, "That's true, so you're letting go of it?"
Myles said, "I just don't want my world and future to be without Bonnie. Anything else doesn't matter to me."
Myles's words made Evan with nothing more to say.
Even if Myled hated Isabel, who was a bad person, in his heart, she was still Bonnie's mother.
He couldn't really do anything to Isabel for revenge.
If he really did so, then he and Bonnie might not really have a chance together any more.
Manches City looked like it was being managed very strictly.
But in the unseen places, some illegal activities were still in full swing.
Myles parked his car at the underground bank of the black market.
"Shall I come in with you?" Evan asked before Myles got out of the car.
Myles raised his hand to unbuckle his seat belt, "No, I'll just go in by myself. They just want the money. They won't really fall out with me."
Evan thought for a moment, "Is half an hour enough?"
Myles understood the meaning of Evan's words, "More or less. I've had my people stand by. You can contact Tiger then."
Evan nodded, "Okay, you go in, I'll park across the street."
Myles nodded, pushed open the door and got out of the car.
Evan sat in the car and watched Myles enter the underground bank alone. Before switching from the co-pilot to the driver's seat, he drove the car to the opposite parking lot and parked it.
The underground bank was on the second floor underground.
It was all a family business.
There were all kinds of activities here.
Boxing rings, casinos, and a place where people could easily borrow money.
Myles went inside and searched around before finding the person he was looking for.
"Master Knight, Mr. Hughes is here."
A young lad whispered to the man sitting in the main seat.
Maxim Knight raised his eyes.
On seeing Myles, he smiled and waved his hand.
Myles lifted his foot and stepped forward, "Master Knight."
This was not out of respect, but simply because of he was younger.
Or maybe it was respect for the senior.
Maxim was in his early fifties, with slicked back hair and a cigar in his hand.
Hw looked more like an overnight millionaire.
With a smile on his face, Maxim looked at Myles, "You are quick, aren't you?"
Myles nodded, "I dare not to keep Master Knight waiting too long."
Maxim gave the person beside him a look and then said, "You're such a nice person. How come you have a mother-in-law who is so troublesome?"
Maxim's man gave Myles a chair. "Mr. Hughes, please sit down."
Myles did not hesitate and sat down. And then he said to Maxim, "Master Knight has a good point, but what can I do about it?"
Maxim took a puff of smoke. "That's true."
After saying that, Maxim half squinted his eyes to look at Myles. "Then you are planning to pay back the money directly?"
Myles asked directly, "How much is it?"
Maxim looked to the person standing next to him and asked, "Do the math for Mr. Hughes and make it clear."
The person beside him nodded, turned and took a notebook from one side of the table, then took a calculator and was about to press the numbers.
Myles interrupted, "Just tell me how much the total is."
The man glanced at Maxim's face before answering, "Three million."
Myles raised an eyebrow at that, "How much did you lend originally?"
"Three hundred thousand."
Myles laughed when he heard this figure and looked at Master Knight, "Master Knight, aren't you a little greedy?"
Maxim said with a smile, "That can't be negotiated. Your mother-in-law was in a hurry when she asked for the money. If I didn't set it high, then she would have to leave part of her here. I'm also thinking about the personal safety of your mother-in-law."
Myles' lips held a smile, "From the time you called me to now, it hasn't even been three hours, but it has jumped from three hundred thousand up to three million. Master Knight is really making a fortune out of it."
"We're in business, don't we want to get rich? Don't you think so?"
Myles nodded, "Three million is not a small amount, so Master Knight should give a base price."
Maxim put out the cigar in his hand and threw it on the table. "Myles, we are friends in this business, we take care of each other, that's fine, but I gave you a low price. Don't make it difficult for an old man like me, OK?"
"Master Knight, by saying that, aren't you making it difficult for me?" Myles still wore a smile on his face, but it couldn't be found from the bottom of his eyes.
It was even a bit cold.
Maxim met Myles' cold and gloomy eyes and suddenly laughed lightly, "So, it seems that we can't continue our friendship?"
Myles looked calm and said in a low voicet, "It'll all depend on Master Knight."
