I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 641

Chapter 641: Waiting for You to Come Back, and Going Home with You

Sophia nodded, "The Old Mr. Lawrence and the Old Mrs. Lawrence are both inside, let's go in first."
Zane responded and followed Sophia into the house.
Once inside, Sophia put down what she was carrying and helped Zane take off his shoes. "You go ahead, I'll take care of these."
Zane acknowledged her help with a grunt and changed his shoes at the entrance before walking into the living room.
The old Mr. Lawrence was surprised to see Zane walk in at this time. He glanced at his watch before turning to look at Zane. "What brings you here now?"
The Old Mrs. Lawrence also looked up at Zane and asked, "Is something wrong?"
Their reactions left Zane feeling uneasy.
"It's nothing serious," he replied calmly. "I just came back to talk to you about something."
Upon hearing this, both of them visibly relaxed.
Their initial reaction had been like that of a startled bird.
Zane didn't beat around the bush; he handed over the documents he had brought with him directly to The old Mr. Lawrence."Grandpa, take a look at this."
The Old Mrs. Lawrence handed over her glasses from one side as The old Mr. Lawrence took hold of it from another side. He put on his glasses then lowered his head to read through it carefully.
It turned out that not all shares of The Lawrence Group were solely owned by Zane himself. Miller had arranged for Anika and Zaneto split some shares equally before leaving. There were still some shares currently held by The old Mr. Lawrence, Dylan, and even Phoebe. But none of them held as many shares as did Zanethough. Zanecounted up all these stocks then gave Dylan apart while transferring all remaining ones under Yanis' name. Everything was done according to clear rulesand regulations
After reading through everything carefully, the grandfather placed the documents on one side table. He looked up towards zanewith questioning eyes."Have you made your decision?"
Zanesimply nodded,"Yes, I have."
"Then I have no objections. You can give those stocks away however you want. I think Yanis is a good kid; there won't be any trouble with him taking control," said The oldMr. Lawrence
At this point, the grandfather turned towards zanedirectly again."Do you have confidence in yourself? Are you sure those messy things won't happen again?"
To hear such lack-of-confidence words coming out from grandpa's mouth, Zanewas caught off guard"I promise, all those messy things won't happen again," said the old Mr. Lawrence, staring at Zane for a while. "I have no objection if you leave home with nothing. The Lawrence family won't want you anymore either." The old Mr. Lawrence spoke seriously.
Zane nodded and said, "Yes, I understand."
The old Mrs. Lawrence also glanced over and asked, "Has she come back yet?"
Zane cleared his throat and replied, "She will be back soon."
"Bring her home quickly and live a good life," the old Mrs. Lawrence added without saying much more.
With the approval of both the old Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence, Zane signed the contract directly; as long as Yanis signed it too, it would take effect immediately with legal consequences.
However, Zane didn't rush to give Yanis this contract; he waited until Yanis came looking for him again because of something he had sent her before meeting up with her in person with the prepared contract in hand.
Manchester City had already entered summer season; although one couldn't feel it in the morning but could definitely feel its heat by noon time.
After delivering Nancy's engagement ring to her hands earlier that day, Yanis went to meet up with Zane nearby because he was worried about Yanis' safety so they met close by - only five or six minutes away from where Nancy was located on foot.
Yanis found a parking spot for her car before calling Zane who picked up right away on his end saying: "Walk forward then turn right - you'll see me."
Following his instructions, Yanis took a few steps forward then turned right where she saw Zane standing not far away from where she was parked.
Hanging up on their call, Yanis walked over asking,"Have you been waiting long?"
Zane reached out to pull Yanis towards him into an area without direct sunlight saying: "Just got here myself."
Yanis looked at him curiously asking:"Why did you call me out? Isn't there anything going on at work?"
Zanes replied,"Albi and I are going to Viteto this afternoon so I wanted to talk about some things first before leaving town for two days. You can think about it while I'm gone."
Hearing what he said made Yanus furrowed her brows slightly asking:"You're going to Viteto?"
Nodding, Zanes confirmed:"Yes, to communicate regarding Brandon's project. Let's go inside first". Yanis made a sound of agreement and followed Zane into the restaurant.
Due to time constraints, things seemed a bit rushed.
"What do you want to talk to me about?" Yanis asked softly as she looked at Zane after ordering their food.
Zane handed her the file in front of him. "Take a look at this."
Yanis hesitated for a moment when she saw the file, but eventually reached out and took it. "What is this?"
"Take a look," Zane replied.
Yanis opened the file slowly, but when she saw the bolded words on top, she didn't bother reading further and closed it before pushing it back towards Zane. "I don't want this."
Zane coaxed her gently. "Yanis, just read through it first."
With encouragement from his eyes, Yanis reopened the file and read through all its contents until reaching its final line. She tightened her grip on the document in shock. "Are you crazy?"
"Yanis, I've already signed it," Zane whispered back calmly. "All we need now is your signature."
Naturally Yanis wouldn't sign anything like that; she closed up the folder again and pushed it aside once more with determination written across her face. "I don't want any of these things."
"Yanis..."
"If you want to give me something as gifts then go ahead; I don't need these," Yanis interrupted him before he could finish speaking.
Zane stared at her for some time before finally saying: "You can think about it."
"I won't consider them," came Yan's crisp reply.
Zane was going to say something else but was cut off by Yan's next sentence: "When you come back from Viteto we'll go home together."
The words were music to his ears; he couldn't believe what he had heard so he asked again: "Really?"
"Mm-hmm," confirmed Yan with another nod.
Just then their food arrived so they changed topics quickly: "Let's eat first."
Suppressing his joy inside, Zanesaid yesand helped hand over utensils while waiting for their server leave. Afterwards, Zaneslid over closer beside Yanto whisper softly:"Say that last thing again, Yannis."
As if sensing what was coming, Yannis sighed slightlybefore repeating herself:"When you come back from Viteto we'll go home together."
"Louder please," said an excitedly grinning Zaneso much so thathe even pulled out his phoneand started recording.
"…"
"Sayitagain, Yannis! I didn't hear clearly!"
Never did Yannis expectthat Zenewould be sucha pest. She had no choice butto repeat herself once more:"WhenyoucomebackfromVitetowegohometogether!"
