I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 696

Chapter 696: You Are Just a Chess Piece on the Board!

Nancy sneered, "Zane, you're really heartless."

Zane frowned slightly. "I'll say it again. I hope Ms. Nancy won't mention Neve in front of Yanis anymore."

Nancy stared at Zane for a moment before stepping over him and preparing to go inside.

But as she walked forward, she paused.

Bonnie was standing at the door and had heard their conversation clearly. So when Nancy looked over, Bonnie's face no longer held the smile that was there when Nancy arrived earlier. She just nodded lightly towards Nancy.

Nancy didn't expect this coincidence. "Bonnie... I..."

"Are you here to see Yanis? She went out with Stella to look at something and should be back soon. You can wait for her inside," Bonnie interrupted before Nancy could finish speaking.

Without waiting for a response from Nancy, Bonnie turned around and entered Yanis' studio.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Nancy nodded and went inside Yanis' workspace.

Once she was gone, Bonnie turned to Zane. "Did Nancy come here to talk about Neve with Yanis?"

Zane made a sound of agreement.

"You said some nice things just now; I hope you can keep it up!" Bonnie looked at him but he didn't respond verbally.

"Have you called Yanis yet? Are you going in?"

Zane glanced behind her towards the studio then said: "I'm waiting in the car."

"Okay then," Bonnie nodded before turning around and entering the studio herself.

"You two aren't going home?" Bonnie looked towards Linda and Stanley who were sitting nearby."Hurry up and pack up; go home."

The two quickly nodded their heads before turning around to leave.

Bonnie took another glance at Nancy sitting on one side then got up from her seat on the sofa next to her after grabbing a cup of warm water for her.

Nancy thanked her softly while taking the cup from her hand.

After staring awkwardly into space for several seconds, Bonny spoke again: "Honestly speaking, Nancy, did you come here today with ulterior motives? Just so that you could help Neve say some good things in front of Yannis or let Yannis speak well about Neve in front of Zane."

Nancy shooked head repeatedly upon hearing this accusation,"I didn't know beforehand that my mother-in-law had found someone…"

"Don't lie," Bonny cut off what she wanted to say,"Aunt Rivers often comes here. I don't believe she hasn't mentioned your address or my shop name. So don't lie."Nancy paused for a few seconds before speaking, "Yes, when my mother-in-law mentioned it earlier, I only thought of you. I didn't expect Yanis to have opened a studio here as well. But when we spent time together afterwards, I didn't have any ulterior motives. I just..."

Nancy fell silent for a few more seconds before continuing, "I just went to see Neve recently and saw how much weight she had lost and how badly she was being treated in there with bruises all over her face and body. That's why I wanted Yanis to say something to Mr. Lawrence so that Neve wouldn't have to stay in there for too long since she has nothing left now."

Bonnie looked at Nancy and asked,"Do you feel sorry for her now?"

Nancy nodded.

"Well then, have you ever heard the saying 'the pitiful are often also the hateful'?" Bonnie's voice was calm as she continued,"You only see Neve's pitiful side but what about Anika's situation back then? Have you ever considered Anika's feelings when Neve pinned the blame on her or manipulated her?"
