The woman introduced herself first, "My name is Fukuma Minoru, and we were from the same year back in college."
Bonnie didn't remember the name much, but she still nodded at Fukuma and said, "Hello, I'm Bonnie."
Libby also nodded at Fukuma and said her own name. "Hi there," she added.
After exchanging greetings with each other, the four of them stood there watching as the basketball game heated up on the court. The principal and a few teachers were also watching intently from one side as if it was an official basketball game. People were cheering for the teams too.
Yanis noticed that Fukuma's gaze kept following Ahmed every time she glanced over to her. There seemed to be both love and hate in those eyes.
Looking at Fukuma made Yanis feel a strange feeling inside that she couldn't quite put into words.
When one game ended, Fukuma turned to Yanis and whispered softly, "Miss Thompson, can we talk now? I'm afraid I won't have another chance later."
Yanis nodded in agreement. "Let's go to the restroom; it'll be quieter there," she suggested.
Fukuma nodded. "I'll go first."
Fukuma walked up to Ahmed and said something before leaving, then headed for the bathroom.
After Fukuma left, Bonnie leaned over to Yanis for the first time, "What did she just say to you? I saw her with Ahmed earlier. Is she Ahmed's girlfriend?"
Yanis shook her head uncertainly before admitting that she wasn't sure either.
"She seemed... sickly?" Libby chimed in suddenly after hearing their conversation.
Bonnie listened to Libby and nodded, "Yeah, yeah, it's like a serious illness. I was afraid she'd pass out just standing there."
Yanis listened to the conversation and remembered the marks on Fukuma's arms when she rolled up her sleeves. "I'm going to the bathroom."
After greeting Yanis, she turned and walked away.
Yanis had just left when Zane arrived.
"What did Yanis do? "
Bonnie handed Zane the water Yanis gave her. "She wen to the bathroom. She'll be back in a minute. Don?? t worry. She won?? t elope with anyone else.??
Zane glanced aside to see that Yanis was indeed heading for the bathroom, then looked away to take a few sips of water.
"Mr. Lawrence, I didn't expect you to be so good at basketball. Why haven't I seen you play before?"
Zane responded to Bonnie after finishing his drink, "I just didn't feel like playing before."
Bonnie asked, "So why do you suddenly want to play now?"
Zane looked at her and said, "Because Yanis said I look cool playing."
Both Libby and Bonnie were speechless.
Zane put down his water bottle and gave Albi a signal. Albi understood and walked towards the restroom. At the same time, Ahmed saw Yanis leave and also left the court under the pretext of going to the restroom.
Robin and Ivan stood in front of Zane talking while no one noticed Ahmed leaving. The principal also came over for a brief chat with Zane.
Meanwhile, on the first floor women's restroom...
Fukuma saw Yanis approaching her and took two steps forward saying, "Let's go upstairs; this one is being repaired."
