Zane said in a calm voice, "Not good."
"Zane!"
Myles' tone became heavy, "I'm not in Manchester City anymore."
When Zane heard Myles' words, he calmly replied, "I haven't seen her yet, but Yanis said she's badly injured. She's alone in the treatment room, covered in blood."
After hearing Zane's words, Myles remained silent for a while.
Just when Zane thought Myles had hung up the phone, Myles' voice came through the phone, "Thank you for this. Consider it a favor owed."
"Aren't you coming back to see her?"
Myles whispered, "I can't make it in time, and I can't come back."
Zane was silent for a few seconds before softly acknowledging.
"Thank you."
Zane didn't say anything else and hung up the phone directly.
As soon as Zane ended the call with Myles, Freddy arrived.
"Mr. Lawrence." Freddy greeted Zane as he approached, "Where's Bonnie?"
"She's inside, but you might not be able to go in. Yanis is with her, don't worry."
Upon hearing Zane's words, Freddy turned and glanced inside through the door, but he couldn't see anything.
Freddy's worry was evident on his face.
He stood at the door, anxiously looking at the closed entrance as if he could see through it.
Zane wanted to say something comforting to Freddy, but when he opened his mouth, he couldn't find the right words. He decided to remain silent and stood aside.
Half an hour later, the door opened.
However, the person who came out was Yanis.
"Yanis, how's Bonnie? Is she alright?" Freddy hurriedly went up to Yanis as soon as he saw her, inquiring about Bonnie's condition.
"Uncle Cooke, Bonnie is fine. She received some anesthesia just now and may take a while to wake up," Yanis said in a low voice.
Upon hearing the mention of anesthesia, Freddy's expression instantly changed, "She received anesthesia? Is she severely injured?"
Yanis looked at Freddy's worried face and could only explain what had happened in detail, "Uncle Cooke, Bonnie fell because she was pulling me in a hurry. She got several pieces of broken glass in her back. They have been cleaned up, and there's nothing to worry about now. Once she wakes up, she can be moved to the hospital room."
After listening to Yanis, Freddy's worried expression eased a little, "It's good that she's fine."
Yanis nodded, "Uncle Cooke, please sit here for a while. Let's wait for Bonnie to wake up before going to the hospital room."
Freddy nodded, and at that moment, he noticed Yanis had injuries too, "You sit down quickly."
With Freddy's support, Yanis sat on a nearby chair, "Uncle Cooke, I'm fine."
"With injuries like that, you can't say you're fine," Freddy glanced at Yanis' arms and legs, "Have you been examined by a doctor?"
Although Yanis said this, she still thought of one possibility in her heart - Ahmed's family.
Actually, on her way to the shop, Yanis had noticed several times that someone was following her in a car. But every time, they would stop following her when she was close to the shop. Since they hadn't done anything, Yanis didn't mention it to Zane or even Bonnie. After all, there was no substantial evidence.
But today's incident left Yanis with lingering fear. If it hadn't been for Bonnie's quick reaction to grab her and Stanley pulling her, she wouldn't have known whether she would be alive or dead.
Bonnie woke up twenty minutes later and was taken to a regular single-patient room by a nurse. Because her injuries were on her back, Bonnie could only lie on her stomach.
"Dad, please don't worry. I'm really fine. It's just a few cuts from broken glass. Look, I'm okay now," Bonnie reassured Freddy, but in reality, the pain in her back intensified once the anesthesia wore off. It felt like someone had poured salt on her wounds.
Freddy's eyes filled with concern, "Just lie still and don't move. It'll hurt more if you disturb the wound."
Bonnie murmured, "Dad, please don't tell Grandpa about this. If he hears, he'll worry and won't be able to sleep. When you go back, just say that I got a minor scrape and fainted. Don't mention anything else."
Freddy was about to say something when the door of the hospital room opened, and a nurse entered, saying, "Bonnie?"
Bonnie responded, looking at the nurse, "Yes?"
"Are you pregnant?"
The nurse held a document and glanced at it before looking at Bonnie.
Bonnie was stunned upon hearing the nurse's words. She stared at the nurse for a while before finally managing to say, "Wh... What?"
The nurse handed the document to Bonnie, saying, "You're pregnant, about six weeks along."
Bonnie didn't reach out to take the document for a while. Instead, Yanis stepped forward, reached out, and took the document from the nurse to have a look. When she saw the words confirming early pregnancy, Yanis looked at Bonnie.
