I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 776

Chapter 776: Miss Thompson, feeling proud now?

Zane murmured softly and reached out to embrace Yanis. "Yanis."

"Yeah?"

"Yanis."

"Yeah, I'm here."

Zane called out Yanis's name twice but didn't say anything else.

However, the strength with which he held Yanis became more intense, as if he wanted to meld her into his own body.

Yanis let herself be embraced until she heard footsteps behind her. Only then did she softly call out, "Zane."

Zane released his hold on Yanis in response.

Neve stood not far away, watching Zane and Yanis.

There was no excess emotion on her face, as if she had lost all expressions during the time she spent here.

Yanis had no intention of saying anything to Neve, but she could tell that Neve had something to say to Zane. So, after casting a glance at Neve's face, Yanis turned to Zane and whispered, "Zane, I'll wait for you outside."

As Yanis finished speaking, Zane instinctively reached out and grabbed her wrist. "No need."

Yanis looked at Zane and said softly, "Zane, I'll be right outside, not going far. She must have something to say to you."

Zane stared at Yanis for a few seconds. "You don't have to avoid it. There's nothing you can't hear."

"I know, but today, I don't want to hear what she wants to say to you." Yanis spoke as she reached up to straighten Zane's clothes. "I'll be at the door. You have ten minutes. If you haven't finished talking after ten minutes, I'll come in."

After hearing Yanis's words, Zane hesitated for a few seconds before nodding. "Okay."

Yanis didn't look at Neve and turned directly to walk towards the door.

Zane watched Yanis walk to the door before redirecting his gaze to Neve standing beside him.

The two female police officers accompanying Neve took a step back, giving her space.

Neve took a step forward towards Zane. "Long time no see."

Actually, Neve wanted to call him by his name, but considering their relationship, it seemed inappropriate. Calling him "brother" was naturally out of the question for Neve.

So, she dryly greeted him with "long time no see."

Zane looked at Neve, taking his time to respond. "Long time no see."

Neve glanced towards the door. "You... must be very happy now, right?"

Zane didn't respond to her words but looked at Neve instead. "Did you see her?"

Neve nodded. "I never expected that the last time I would see her would be under these circumstances."

Before she knew it, she thought Lucia was the best person for her besides Bruce.

No matter what, everything seems to be her first, even when he was with Anika, he was never gentle with her.

Later, I learned the truth of the matter. Maybe Neve was shocked and a little bit resistant at the beginning, and then slowly accepted it. It was not appropriate to say that it was accepted, as if she was used to her being nice to herself. The feeling it deserves.

But now that he suddenly learned that she was dead, Neve felt as if he had lost someone who was very important to him.

"Hate her?" Zane looked at her and asked again.

Hearing Zane's question, Neve was slightly startled, "Hate? What right do I have to hate her? Her choice was made by herself. She didn't seem to be sorry for me from the beginning to the end, but it seems that she has been sorry to me from the beginning, saying hate It's been a while."

When Neve said this, he looked up at Zane, "What about you? Do you hate her?"
