When Allan heard Marnon's words, he quickly understood the meaning behind them. If he truly chose Reed, he would have to take on the responsibility of taking care of Mia and the others.
"You don't really object to me being with Reed?" Allan asked.
Marnon replied, "If this were before, I would definitely object, but now I don't have a strong stance against it. As long as you treat Reed well and make her happy, nothing else matters."
In the past, Marnon would never have agreed to let Allan be with Reed. But now, all she wanted was someone to take care of Reed and the others in the future. Even if she were to leave one day, she wouldn't worry so much.
"If you trust me, I will take good care of them," Allan assured her.
Marnon nodded. "Thank you."
This was the second time Marnon had thanked Allan in this short period of time.
"Well, I should go now. Mitch might get angry if he sees me here," Allan said.
Marnon nodded again. "Go ahead, and come with Reed next time."
Upon hearing that, Allan nodded. "Sure."
Just as Allan left, Mitch arrived.
Marnon didn't mention Allan's visit in front of Mitch. However, the nurse and Mitch were familiar with each other, and a few words were exchanged during their chat.
Mitch returned to the ward and placed a cup of warm water on the bedside cabinet for Marnon. "Mom, did Allan come earlier?"
Marnon looked at Mitch and asked, "How did you know?"
"It seems he really came. What did he say?" Mitch looked at Marnon and asked.
Marnon took a few sips of water from the cup. "Mitch, Allan is actually a good person."
Mitch didn't immediately respond to Marnon's words.
"There's something I haven't told you all before, right?" Mitch looked at Marnon, waiting for her to continue.
Marnon repeated the story of how Allan had helped Reed in front of Mitch.
After hearing Marnon's words, Mitch remained silent for a while. He had no knowledge of this incident at all. He hadn't imagined that Reed had gone through such a situation back then. If it weren't for Allan, Mitch didn't dare to imagine what might have happened to Reed.
"So, Mitch, the Millers owe Allan a debt of gratitude," Marnon said softly.
Mitch remained silent for a few seconds. "I know, I'll remember," he finally responded.
Marnon sighed. "Mitch, once the test results come out, let's go together and listen. If things improve, let's go home, okay?"
"Mom, I told you before, the doctor said you have to stay in the hospital..."
"Mitch, Mom is not clueless. I know a lot of things. I don't want to stay in the hospital all the time. I want to spend more time with you all, not just in the hospital."
Mitch wanted to say something but was interrupted by Marnon.
After a brief moment of silence, Mitch said, "Let's see how things go after the test results come out."
Marnon nodded. "Alright."
Mitch had no intention of telling Marnon about what happened to Reed yesterday.
After spending some time at the hospital, Mitch headed to the Lawrence Group.
...
Reed woke up around noon.
Yanis looked up upon hearing his voice. "Awake?"
Reed nodded and asked as he descended the stairs, "Yanis, where is my brother?"
"Do you mean Allan or your brother?" Yanis asked.
