Allan reached out and took the shirt from Reed's hand, quickly changing into it. "I didn't plan on returning it to him anyway."
Reed watched Allan change his clothes and finally spoke up. "Why did you put your clothes back on?"
Allan straightened his shirt with his hand. "It's a bit cold, so I decided to put it on for now."
After saying that, Allan stood up. "I'm going out for a bit. I'll be back in about half an hour."
"Are you going to the town?" Reed asked.
Allan shook his head. "No, I'll just wander around outside. I'll be back soon. Don't worry, I won't go find Felix and the others."
Reed nodded. "Be careful with your wound."
"Okay."
Allan was worried about keeping Mia, the little brat, waiting for too long. He didn't want her to add another debt to his tally, so he hastily left Reed's room and went to the front gate to find Mia.
When Allan went outside, Mia was already standing at the front gate.
"Why did you take so long?" Mia looked at Allan with some dissatisfaction.
Allan explained in a gentle tone, "I had to put on clothes before coming out, right?"
Mia responded with an "Oh." "Let's go."
Allan looked at Mia as she turned and walked to one side. He whispered behind her, "Where are we going?"
"Just follow me," Mia replied.
Allan murmured in agreement and followed behind Mia.
After walking for a while, Allan could roughly guess where Mia was taking him.
"Mia, are you sure we should go there at this time?" Allan couldn't help but ask in a low voice.
Mia turned her head and looked at him. "What's wrong? Are you scared?"
"I'm not scared, I'm just worried that you might get scared."
"You don't need to worry about that. Just walk faster," Mia said.
"Alright," Allan sighed.
Allan's guess turned out to be accurate.
Mia brought him to Chen Juan's grave.
"Kneel down," Mia said as she knelt down first.
Allan glanced at the photo on the tombstone and also knelt down.
"You swear that from now on, you'll be extra, extra good to Reed. No scolding her, no bullying her, no making her unhappy, and you definitely can't make her cry. You have to make sure she has beautiful clothes to wear, lots of good food, and... and she has to be happy every day," Mia said, looking at Allan intently.
After hearing Mia's words, Allan raised his hand and, in a solemn gesture, looked at Chen Juan's tombstone, repeating what Mia had said word for word.
After finishing, Allan turned his head and looked at Mia. "Is this enough?"
Mia nodded. "It's enough."
After saying that, Mia kowtowed to Chen Juan's grave and then stood up.
Following Mia's lead, Allan also kowtowed before standing up.
Mia reached out and grabbed Allan's hand. "Let's go quickly."
Allan looked at Mia. "Are you scared?"
"It's not just my dad and mom here. There are others too," Mia said as she walked away.
Allan bent down and squatted in front of Mia. "Let me carry you. We'll walk faster."
Mia looked at Allan, hesitating. "I'm quite heavy."
"Don't worry, I'm not afraid. Hop on," Allan reassured her.
Mia glanced behind her and quickly climbed onto Allan's back. "Let's go."
"All right," Allan agreed and started walking, taking slow steps.
Mia couldn't help but urge him in a low voice, "Allan, walk faster."
