I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 914

Chapter 914: Let Me Hold You a Little Longer

Yanis snuggled in Zane's arms and adjusted her position before responding, "Auntie has finished cooking."

Zane murmured in agreement, leaning down to kiss Yanis on the forehead. "I'll go change my clothes and be right down."

Yanis didn't let go of Zane as she said, "Let me hold you a little longer."

After hearing Yanis' words, Zane hummed in response and held her even tighter.

The two of them stayed embraced on the balcony for a while before finally heading downstairs.

Bonnie saw Yanis coming down alone and looked up at her. "Why are you alone? Where's Mr. Lawrence?"

"He's changing his clothes and will be down in a moment," Yanis replied as she walked over to the chair across from Bonnie and sat down. "You can go ahead and eat. You don't have to wait for him."

Bonnie shook her head. "I'm not very hungry. I'll wait for him."

After saying that, Bonnie glanced at Auntie and whispered, "Auntie, could you give me a bowl of soup? I'll have less rice."

Auntie responded and served Bonnie a bowl of soup. "Miss Cooke, be careful, it's hot."

Just as Auntie finished serving Bonnie the soup, Zane came downstairs.

Seeing that neither of them had started eating, Zane asked, "Why aren't you eating?"

Yanis continued, "Bonnie said she'll wait for you."

Zane took a seat next to Yanis and handed her the chopsticks. "You don't have to wait for me, go ahead and eat."

Bonnie picked up her fork. "If Mr. Lawrence doesn't come, we won't dare to eat."

Zane glanced at Bonnie's face. "When did you become so afraid of me?"

Bonnie replied, "I've always been afraid, okay?"

Zane helped Yanis pick up some food with the chopsticks before addressing Bonnie's statement. "You saying that will make Yanis misunderstand. Someone who doesn't know might think I did something to you."

Yanis spoke up at the right moment. "I didn't misunderstand."

After finishing their meal, Yanis accompanied Bonnie at the doorstep for a while. "Why don't you stay here tonight? Tomorrow morning, we can go to the hospital together and then get your things from the villa."

Bonnie glanced at the time on her wrist. "Tonight won't work. I have other things to take care of."

Seeing Bonnie's response, Yanis didn't insist. "Alright, I'll drive you back then."

"No need, I'll drive back on my own."

"But..."

"I know you're worried, but if you drive me back and come back alone, I'll worry too. How about we spend the night shuttling each other back and forth?" Bonnie suggested.

Hesitating for a moment, Yanis made a suggestion. "Then let Zane drive you back."

"No need, the distance from here to the villa is not far. As soon as I get back, I'll call you, alright?" Bonnie agreed.

Yanis nodded after a moment of hesitation. "Drive slowly."

Bonnie responded with a quiet "Okay."

Yanis stood at the doorway, watching Bonnie's car drive away until the taillights disappeared, then turned around and went back inside.

As Yanis entered the house, Zane approached her. "Bonnie went back?"

Yanis nodded. "She's gone. I'm going to accompany her for her check-up tomorrow morning."

Zane nodded in response and lay back down as Yanis stood up. He pulled her into his embrace. "What time is Bonnie going to the hospital?"

"Around eight o'clock," Yanis answered. "Why?"

Zane glanced at the time and whispered, "It's still early. Do you want to sleep a little longer?"
