Mia didn't respond to Bonnie's words nor did she reach out to untie the ropes binding her hands. "Bonnie, stop daydreaming. You're not going back today."
Bonnie looked at Mia and suddenly laughed. "Mia, I called you a fool before, but you still didn't realize it. If you want me to die so badly, why don't I just jump from here myself? Isn't that better than you doing it? If you want me dead, you should suffer too. Are you not a fool?"
Mia glanced down at the ground where everything seemed so small from this height.
"It's easy to die, but Bonnie, I don't want to see you die so easily. I want you to suffer, so I can vent my anger!" Mia's hand flicked, and a switchblade popped open, its tip pressing against Bonnie's swollen belly. "Should I kill you first, then him? Or should I let you die first and slowly torture him?"
Mia's lips curled into a smirk. "He should be close to full-term now, right? How about I help you deliver him right now? What do you think?"
Bonnie stared at Mia fiercely. "You dare!"
Mia raised her hand and slapped Bonnie's face forcefully, the crisp sound echoing through the quiet air.
"Who do you think you are? I don't dare? Bonnie, you better understand that your life is in my hands now."
Mia's slap was powerful, leaving Bonnie's ears ringing and her cheek stinging. It was clear how much force Mia had used.
After a while, the ringing in Bonnie's ears subsided slightly.
Just as Bonnie was about to say something, Mia raised her hand and delivered another slap to the other side of Bonnie's face. "Do you feel wronged now?"
Bonnie bit her lip, the taste of blood making her furrow her brows even tighter.
Mia, in her madness, didn't bother waiting for Bonnie's response. Instead, her anger grew, and she struck Bonnie's face with another slap.
With each successive slap, Bonnie's face became visibly swollen.
But Mia seemed to be addicted to it, and she followed up with a fourth slap.
This time, Bonnie tilted her head slightly, evading Mia's palm.
With her palm hitting empty air, Mia grew even angrier. She grabbed Bonnie's hair and lifted her hand to strike her face again. "You deserve to die!"
Due to her bound hands, Bonnie had no room to fight back. She could only endure Mia's crazed actions.
Every time Mia's hand came down, Bonnie instinctively lowered her body, fearing that the blow might land on her belly.
"Stop!"
Just as Bonnie was reaching her limit, a sharp voice rang out.
Haider retreated several steps until he was nearly at the staircase. At this distance, it was almost impossible for him to do anything.
His palms were sweaty with nervousness, not willing to further anger Mia, so he complied.
"Haider, I want to make her go down and join Myles. I promised Myles in front of him that I would do it. He's all alone down there, so lonely!" Mia said with a deep voice. "Her child is Myles', and don't worry, I won't harm Myles' child. I will help you take it out now!"
Saying that, Mia freed one hand from her pocket and pulled out a syringe, not hesitating to inject it into Bonnie's shoulder without a second thought.
"Mia!"
Even if Haider wanted to approach, it was already too late.
After the liquid in the syringe was injected, Bonnie quickly collapsed onto Mia's body.
Mia didn't stop there but continued to push the remaining liquid from the syringe into Bonnie's body before removing the needle and throwing it aside.
Haider had reached Bonnie's side, looking at her unconscious form. He reached out to hold her, but Mia stopped him, the sharp blade raised above Bonnie's abdomen. "Haider, are you pushing me?"
Haider's outstretched hand froze in mid-air. "Mia, don't take things too far!"
