I Love You, Miss Genius (Bonnie Shepard and Ivor Knight) novel Chapter 511

Jim had worked and sacrificed much for Bonnie—that was the least she could do for him. However, Keenan suddenly shouted, “You can’t do that! It’s too dangerous!”

Bonnie patted Keenan’s shoulder and said, “It’s okay. You’re here with me. I believe in your skills.”

Keenan thought, ‘There she goes again.’

Bonnie entered the store and started picking things, “This pearl necklace isn’t half bad. That one over there looks good, too. Jim’s grandma might like it.”

Ultimately, she chose a high-gloss pearl necklace. Each pearl was smooth, flawless, and gleaming. She told the saleswoman, “I’ll take this necklace, please.”

The saleswoman rolled her eyes and insulted Bonnie, “Have you looked at the price? It’s forty grand. Are you sure you can afford it?”

Bonnie frowned in response.

‘This lady has been giving me dirty looks since I entered the store. From the looks of it now, it doesn’t seem like she’s underestimating me. There’s something else to it.’

“Do you know me enough to assume I can’t afford this necklace? How dare you look at me as if I’m a piece of trash? What’s with the mocking tone? You have such a poor character.”

The saleswoman looked at Bonnie disdainfully, arms akimbo as the former said, “Hmph! Did you just say I have a poor character? I can’t be sure if you can afford this necklace. For all I know, you shamelessly got your money.”

“It looks like you’re itching for a beating!” Keenan was about to reprimand the saleswoman when Bonnie stopped him.
