Bonnie raised her brows when she saw Ivor’s name on her phone. She answered the call, “I thought you were supposed to be working. How’d you find the time to call me?”

Then, she heard his anger-laden voice, “I called because you didn’t tell me something happened on campus!”

“How did you find out?” Bonnie was initially stunned. Soon after, something occurred to her, and she gave Avril a sidelong glance. “Did you tell him?”

Avril stuck out her tongue but remained silent.

‘That’s a yes to me.’

Bonnie rolled her eyes at Avril and said, “What a blabbermouth.”

She looked away from Avril and spoke into the phone, “I didn’t need your help for such a trivial matter. I handled it myself.”

Ivor’s eyes darkened. “You’ve always been like that, Bonnie. You would rather do everything yourself, no matter what it is. I’m your fiance, which means we’re on the same team. Your behavior makes me feel like I’m still an outsider to you.”

“Ivor, I don’t consider you an outsider. I just figured I could handle it myself. I didn’t want to bother you with my problems. That said, I have a hunch who did it. All I have to do now is send someone to investigate and confirm my suspicions.”

“Are we thinking about the same person?”

The couple paused before simultaneously uttering the suspect’s name, “Eloise.”
