I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 141

Chapter 141 Is Love Necessary?

She prepared the agreement from memory according to the one Benjamin had given her before.

Then, she printed it out and signed her name.

When the neat inscription of "Harper" appeared after "Authorized by", she knew it signaled the impending end of their marriage.

Despite reaching this point, she had to keep moving forward without any hesitation or doubt.

She sealed the agreement in an envelope and arranged for a courier from the local delivery service to send it to Benjamin's office at the Martin Group for his signature.

After completing these tasks, Harper felt drained. Her eyes were devoid of life, while her beautiful face was expressionless.

She thought she was mentally prepared and wouldn't be affected, but her heart still ached terribly.

Asking the man she loved for a divorce was excruciating beyond words.

Leaning back in her office chair, she stared blankly at her belly.

It seemed like an eternity before her phone on the desk suddenly rang.

Harper glanced at the caller ID, then answered, and a cold, questioning voice came from the other end. "Harper, what does this mean?"

"I thought I made myself clear," she replied coldly as she gazed out the window.

Could anyone discern her emotions at this moment?

Benjamin's voice was cold and hostile as he asked, "So, is divorce the only solution?"

"Benjamin, your actions easily lead me to believe you're reluctant to get a divorce because you've fallen in love with me. So, have you?" she asked for the third time.

Despite knowing the answer, she still wanted to ask.

His actions easily misled her. He didn't love her, but why did he want to tie the two of them together with marriage?

She wondered if it was because they had been married for a year and he was used to it.
