I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 153

Chapter 153 Suspend the Cooperation

A project that was progressing smoothly suddenly came to a halt, and there must be a reason behind it.

Frank was anxious. "Mr. Kerr just called me. He didn't mention any specific reasons, just said it was the decision from above."

"From above? Whose decision from above?" she thought.

Harper slightly pressed her lips, her eyes showing a hint of coldness. "I see."

"Harper, is Benjamin doing this to make you reconsider the divorce?" Frank couldn't hold back and eventually asked.

Harper didn't answer but said, "They probably already know over at Summit Realty. Let's see what they have to say first."

Frank didn't press further for answers. He murmured, "Harper, don't worry. I'll go find out what's really going on."

"Okay, thank you."

After hanging up the phone, Harper tossed it aside and finally got up from bed.

She pulled open the curtains expressionlessly, looking at the bright sunny day outside, yet her heart was shrouded in gloom.

She stood quietly for a long time before finally calming her restless mind.

Half an hour later, Harper left the apartment, but instead of going to the office, she drove straight to the Martin Group.

When she arrived an hour later, she took the elevator to the top-floor CEO's office.

Curtis was the first to notice and hurriedly greeted her. "Mrs. Martin."

"Mr. Yost, is Benjamin available now? I have something to discuss with him." Harper maintained her polite demeanor, but the coldness in her eyes was unmistakable.

Curtis naturally understood her purpose for coming, so he responded cautiously, "Mr. Martin is in his office, but he is currently with a client. Would you like to..."

"It's fine, I can wait for him." With that, Harper already started walking towards the nearby lounge area.

Harper sat quietly on the sofa in the lounge area. Even though she had insisted that she didn't need any attention, Curtis still poured her a glass of water.
