Chapter 163 Don't Regret
She actually hoped to hear Benjamin deny it. Though it might sound melodramatic, in matters of love, everyone was selfish.
Harper just looked at him plainly. Instead of answering his question, she asked, "How can we restart the paused project? Can we keep innocent people like Summit Realty out of our personal affairs?"
Benjamin's face remained calm, like a tranquil stream at night, cool and penetrating. His tone matched the calmness, but there was an underlying chill in his eyes as he replied, "If we don't divorce, you can do whatever you want."
"Anything?"
"Of course, considering you're my wife."
Harper gave a dry chuckle.
"Benjamin, you really don't get me, do you? I can't stand people who can't separate business from personal life, always resorting to threats and manipulation. Even if I have second thoughts about this marriage, your tactics only make me more determined to go ahead with the divorce."
Benjamin narrowed his eyes slightly, a hint of displeasure lurking in them. "Harper, are you sure?"
"If I say I'm sure, are you going to make my company disappear from Mayby?"
"Probably." He smirked, his smile devoid of warmth, but there was an undeniable arrogance and coldness in his demeanor. "So think carefully before you answer."
"Yes, I'm sure about the divorce, and it's not just empty words," Harper responded firmly, her eyes clear and resolute, showing no sign of backing down.
The two locked eyes. Benjamin's expression remained impassive, his eyes icy and stern, with a hint of displeasure and annoyance evident in his furrowed brows. After a deep gaze at her, he turned and got into his car, driving away.
But Harper understood perfectly well what his gaze meant.
