I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 166

Chapter 166 Bumped into Him

"Harper, I've missed you every single day!" Annie replied with a low chuckle.

They'd been best friends since high school, and that hadn't changed a bit.

Hand in hand, they walked to the parking lot. Once in the car, Harper said, "Let's grab a bite first. I've ordered your favorite dishes."

"Sounds good. You're the boss." She nodded, playing along.

Harper just smiled and didn't say anything. Despite Annie's seemingly docile appearance, she was rebellious and mischievous at heart.

Arriving at the restaurant, unable to book a private room, Harper settled for a table by the window. As they waited for their food, Annie raised an eyebrow. "It's been over a year, but you seem different somehow."

"What's different?"

"Can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's just been too long. Anyway, I plan to stick around and work on our friendship during this time."

Harper chuckled, "Alright, but you better not ghost me later."

"Hmph, don't you dare underestimate me."

They exchanged a knowing glance and chuckled.

Before long, their food arrived, and they began to eat, chatting about the dishes and catching up on recent events in their lives. Despite not having seen each other for over a year, they had managed to keep in touch.

Suddenly, Annie asked, "Would it be weird if I crashed at your place? You're married now, after all."

Harper lowered her eyes and replied calmly, "I've moved out, so it's no biggie."

"Are you serious?"

"Do I look like I'm kidding?"

"Why? Don't you love him? And isn't prolonged separation bad?"
