I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 175

Chapter 175 Explanation

Benjamin's icy voice was filled with anger and dissatisfaction.

Harper stopped talking and directly opened the door and got in the car.

The car was quiet. Benjamin's odor filled the narrow space. The faint smell of tobacco on his body was not so pungent compared to others but had a unique flavor.

After a few seconds of silence, Benjamin asked softly, "Harper, if I hadn't said that, would you have planned to keep not seeing me?"

"How could that be? Divorce procedures require both of us to be present, so how could I not see you all the time?"

"You can't wait to divorce me?" Benjamin said angrily.

She said, "I only answered that because you asked."

"Are you sure you want to keep talking to me with this attitude?"

"What attitude should I use with you? You teach me."

Benjamin stared unblinkingly at her for a few moments as he held back his inner emotions until he calmed down before saying blandly, "It was not what you saw at the door of the restaurant last night."

"Lauren's parents came to Mayby for a physical examination. The situation was a bit complicated, so they asked me for help. Out of courtesy, I took them to have a meal together last night. Then I sent them back to the hotel. After that, I went to your house, and you didn't listen to my explanation."

There was a hint of inexplicable aggravation in his tone.

Harper subconsciously frowned, then faintly responded, "Well, I know. But you didn't have to tell me. After all, this is something between you and Lauren. It has nothing to do with me."

"That's the only response you gave me?"

Dissatisfaction showed in his eyes.
