However, the elevator didn't close as fast as Benjamin came in. The second the elevator door was about to close, a large hand blocked it, and Benjamin then came in and cornered Harper.

The elevator doors shut utterly in the next second. They could faintly still hear Lauren yelling, "Benjamin..."

But Benjamin had been watching Harper, his somber face filled with indifference and his voice cold. "Harper, what are you hiding from?"

Harper gave him an icy look. Afraid of getting too close to him, she was trying desperately to move closer to the elevator wall, even trying to become one with it.

Her actions made Benjamin's handsome face grow colder and colder. "Harper, I'm talking to you. Can't you hear me?"

Harper pressed her lips together slightly and frowned, trying not to look at him. But he was so close to her that his breath spilled directly onto her face as he stared intensely at her.

His gaze was as oppressive to Harper and made her feel uncomfortable.

Harper whispered, "I wasn't hiding and I didn't mean to listen to you guys. I just wanted to go to the cafeteria to get some soup, but I didn't expect to hear you chatting lovingly with Ms. Davis. If you're upset by that, I can apologize to you."

She raised a hand to protect her belly. To Benjamin, her movement was a repulsion. He narrowed his eyes slightly, the coldness on his face deepening.

He reached directly and cupped her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. He even lowered his head to deliberately move closer to her, tickling her skin with his breath, causing her to shiver and stiffen, not daring to move.

Benjamin said in a low voice, "Do you think I'm chatting lovingly with her?"
