Harper's expression remained blank.

But her hands were clenched tightly under the quilt. When she looked at Benjamin, she tried to discern any reaction on his face, but he remained unreadable, as usual.

Benjamin helped her sit up, his voice gentle as he asked, "Curtis went to prepare food for you. Are you hungry?"

Harper frowned lightly and her gaze lingered on him.

Benjamin noticed her scrutiny and questioned, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Harper's eyelashes fluttered slightly, her mind racing.

"Does he really not know?" Despite her suspicions, she remained silent, unsure how to respond.

Before she could gather her thoughts, Benjamin asked again, "Harper, do you have anything to say to me?"

Harper's heart sank, realizing he likely knew that.

He knew she was pregnant.

Otherwise, he wouldn't ask her this question.

But she had no words.

Hiding her pregnancy wasn't a whim; she feared the consequences if Benjamin knew about the existence of this baby.

Harper tried her best to avoid this confrontation, but he knew that it was impossible to escape it eventually.

Benjamin pressed on, "You are pregnant, why didn't you tell me? Harper, I am the child's father; it's unfair for you to treat me like this."
