I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 248

Chapter 248 Stay in the Marriage for Child

Harper remained silent, which revealed her attitude.

Benjamin's tone was calm as he spoke, his words probing deeper. "Harper, do you think I am with you only for the child?"

Harper was frozen.

"What did he mean?

Was there something more to their relationship beyond just the child?"

Refusing to dwell on the question further, Harper simply met Benjamin's gaze in silence.

As Benjamin's demeanor softened, his voice took on a gentle timbre. "Harper, can we not divorce? Don't you want our children to grow up in a complete family?"

Harper was taken aback, her eyes wide with disbelief, momentarily speechless.

She knew Benjamin's plea stemmed from her pregnancy.

This was not what she wanted.

Harper wavered, caught between conflicting emotions. A sense of loss crept over her.

If this conversation had occurred before she filed for divorce, when illusions about their marriage still lingered, perhaps Benjamin's words would have brought her joy.

But not anymore.

Harper's inner turmoil persisted. She knew Benjamin's love for her was absent, unchangeable. Regardless of her actions, the outcome remained unchanged.

Her pride wouldn't allow her to stoop so low. She had fought hard, but the results had not aligned with her desires. Continuing to endure such humiliation before him was out of the question.

Maintaining her silence, Harper offered no response. Benjamin, sensing her reluctance, smoothly diverted the conversation. "I will ask Draven to bring you some food."
