I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 280

Chapter 280 Partnership

All along, Harper knew she was dispensable to Jennifer or the Mitchell family.

Then, after marrying Benjamin, the rest of the Mitchell family, except for Jennifer, eased up on her a little bit, but that was only in person. As for behind-the-scenes, nobody knew it.

However, Jennifer was cold to her whenever she was, and to put it mildly, Jennifer treated her worse than she would have treated a stranger.

Hearing Harper's response, Jennifer was briefly silent before she repeated the question. "Are you really pregnant?"

Harper frowned. "Why are you calling if you don't believe it?"

"Harper, if you really are pregnant, why didn't you ever tell me? Are you at home or at work now? I'll go over with your dad to see you."

Harper was slightly stunned by the magnitude of Jennifer's change in attitude.

Not waiting for Harper to answer, Jennifer asked again, "Are you at home? Then your father and I will go over there now. You're pregnant now, so you need to eat more fruits. I'll buy it over to you."

Jennifer's enthusiasm took Harper a long time to come around.

The only thing she could think about at the moment was that it was fortunate that Benjamin had gone to the office after dinner so that he wouldn't see Jack and Jennifer because her subconscious thought was about the Mitchell Group being rejected by the Martin Group for a partnership.

She only prayed that she was overthinking it.

Forty minutes later, Jack arrived at the apartment with Jennifer. They sat on the couch and looked around, then said indifferently, "How come you're still living here now that you're pregnant? Aren't Benjamin and the Martin family going to change you to another house?"

"I'm fine living here now, and I can take care of my grandmother."

Harper intentionally mentioned Eleanor, but Jennifer was having none of it, just frowning. "Harper, you're pregnant now. You should take this opportunity to sit tight in your position and enjoy the benefits you deserve."
