I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 317

Chapter 317 Harper Is Back

Kimberly said quickly, "Of course, this is also your home. You're welcome back anytime."

Ever since the Mitchell Group had been in trouble, Kimberly discovered Harper's abilities and help to the Mitchell family and developed a dependent affection for Harper from the bottom of her heart.

Upon hearing her offer to come back, Kimberly hurried to tell Jennifer.

Jennifer's face was cold.

"Is she back to laugh at us?"

"Mom, that's not the case. Harper cares about Dad. She helped a lot this time. Without Harper, the consequences could have been serious. If Wulf had not been exposed, Dad would definitely have continued to believe in him, and the Mitchell family might have paid everything for it."

Even not understanding why Harper refused to help in the first place, Kimberly discerned that there must be a reason for Harper to do this. She could tell that Harper wasn't inherently unkind. Despite her refusal, she still provided aid.

With Kimberly's constant persuasion, Jennifer finally nodded in agreement.

Harper came back to the Mitchell Manor alone. After hearing the sound of the car, Kimberly immediately rushed out to greet her.

This was the first time Harper sensed something different when she returned to the Mitchell Manor, but she didn't adapt to it and felt uncomfortable.

Kimberly looked at her with a smile. "Harper, you came back just in time. Mom's dished is almost ready. Let's chat while eating."

After saying that, she walked over and took Harper's hand directly. Such active intimacy made Harper frown subconsciously.

Harper didn't move but said, "C-Can you please stop doing this? Treat me as you did before. Otherwise, I might suspect you have ulterior motives."

Kimberly was embarrassed. "I'm sorry. I..."

"Stop it. I am back to visit Dad and inquire about Wulf. As for an apology, I don't think it's necessary. After all, you haven't done anything for which you should feel sorry."

Harper was always gentle and indifferent. Rather than employing euphemisms, she straightforwardly stated her innermost thoughts.

She was acutely aware that her relationship with Kimberly could never reach the same level of rapport as it did with Annie, and Harper could never feign enthusiasm.
