I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 337

Chapter 337 Probing

After Lauren spoke, Benjamin finally understood her intention, she was waiting here for him.

Did she feel she had leverage?

Something she could use to threaten him?

Benjamin looked at Lauren coldly, his eyes deep and indifferent. His voice was chilly, and he said, "Lauren, do you think I would agree to your request?"

Lauren felt a bit apprehensive; she was unsure.

She dared not look into Benjamin's eyes, instead maintaining her composure and staring at him, softly saying, "Benjamin, you didn't want to see Harper sad, right? If you agree to my request, it would be the best outcome. After all, you promised to marry me first, you broke that promise."

"I broke my promise?" He chuckled coldly. "Then what about the contract you signed?"

Lauren fell silent for a moment before whispering, "I admit that I signed the contract. I accept it. But now, if you want Mrs. Eleanor to have the surgery as soon as possible, you must agree to my request."

"Hmph!" Benjamin said indifferently. "Do you think I will yield to your wishes?"

His eyes carried a cold, indifferent hostility, his expression masking a restrained severity.

Lauren didn't dare respond, only looking at him.

Benjamin's voice was filled with coldness and warning as he continued, "Lauren Davis, don't think about threatening me like this. The initiative has always been in my hands between us. I've told you, if you don't want what little affection remains, just tell me straightforwardly. You don't need to resort to these methods to force me to be ruthless to you. Once that little bit of affection is gone, you mean nothing to me. So, are you sure?"

Lauren's eyes widened suddenly, and she didn't dare say another word.

Benjamin gave her a meaningful glance, his eyes filled with profound and chilling ambiguity. "Do you think I need your permission for a heart, even if it hasn't been transplanted officially yet? Even if the surgery has already begun, I can still take it away. Do you want to try?"

"Benjamin, I... Benjamin, I was wrong. It was foolish of me to try to test your heart in this way. It's all my fault. Can you forgive me? I won't do this again."

Lauren immediately wilted
