Chapter 47 Date

"I'll stay here with you, not bother you, keep quiet and do nothing."

Benjamin reached out to straighten the stray hair on Harper's cheek, but before his fingertips could touch her cheek, she simply ducked away.

His hand just stopped stiffly in midair.

Harper's face was pale, her lips devoid of any blood, and those eyes grew cold.

Benjamin clenched his hand tightly and then dropped it, raising the hospital bed for her while holding the soup to her. He said, "I'll feed you. You drink a little first, okay?"

There was only a little salt in the soup to add flavor, since Harper couldn't eat anything else right now.

But Harper said, "I don't want to eat."

"What do you want to eat? I'll have someone prepare it?"

"I don't want to eat anything. Can you go now?"

"Harper, I was the one who didn't take your wishes into account last night, and I promise it won't happen again, okay?"

He was patient and his voice became much softer.

"So you bullied me first and then calmed me down? Benjamin, do you realize that you almost..."

She was very emotional. But thinking about the baby, Harper didn't continue.

But she couldn't control her emotions as she thought about last night. It wasn't like Harper didn't yell to stop, but he didn't even give her a chance. If the baby did get hurt by this, she would really hate him and hate herself even more.

Benjamin held the soup and never put it down. He said in a low voice, "I'm sorry. You can punish me all you want, but you have to eat now. How else are you going to get well?"

"You put it down. I'll eat it myself."

She turned around, leaving him with her back.

Harper really didn't know what kind of person Benjamin really was.

They were about to get divorced, yet he was going to do that intimate thing with her that only couples do.

Why was Benjamin now taking care of her like a considerate husband?

What was he trying to do?

Harper felt that the more she thought about it, the more annoyed she became.

Afterward, she stopped paying attention to Benjamin. No matter what he did or said, Harper was always silent.

Harper went to the hospital in the middle of the night, and naturally, word got out to the Martin Manor.

Paul came to visit with Lily. They were worried about Harper's emaciation and criticized Benjamin severely.

Paul said, "Harper, get well soon. When you recover, I will personally accompany you to divorce him. And after the divorce, you will move back to the Martin Manor to live with us. From now on, you will be my own granddaughter. You're so good looking. There are plenty of young talents lining up to date you, so we'll pick them one by one."

Paul's reassurance brought a light smile to Harper's face. It had only been one night and her delicate face had lost a lot of weight, which was worrying.

Benjamin was on the other side of the room listening clearly, but didn't dare to say anything in any way, just sighed helplessly and silently.

Harper had been hospitalized for two days, and Benjamin was the one who took care of accompanying her for those two days, but Harper was always cold.
