I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 531

Chapter 531 Foolish

The crowd discussed animatedly as they hurried back to the office to publish the breaking news.

Curtis received the message and turned to Benjamin. He said, "Mr. Martin, it's all taken care of."

"Right, take me to the office," Benjamin responded in a low voice, then closed his eyes and leaned back in the rear seat, remaining silent.

Winnie sat still on the other side, not daring to come closer until the car stopped at the entrance of the Martin Group. As Benjamin got out of the vehicle, Winnie quickly said, "Mr. Martin, I..."

Benjamin didn't look at her, nor did he speak to her; he just left everything to Curtis to handle.

After Benjamin entered the office, Curtis told Winnie, "The driver will take you home later. Once you're home, have him dispose of your clothes. Stay in your apartment and lay low for a while. If anyone asks where you were last night, you know what to say, right?"

Winnie nodded, feeling a bit downhearted. "Mr. Yost, is that all there is to it?"

"What else did you expect?" Curtis asked with a chuckle, then casually added, "If I were you, I wouldn't ask such foolish questions. I'd seize this opportunity to completely reinvent myself. If you stay grounded and avoid any inappropriate thoughts, you'll definitely go far in this industry."

Stunned, Winnie only came to her senses after Curtis had left. She sat in the car as the driver took her home.

She mulled over Curtis's words. Don't be lovesick. Focus on the career. That's what matters.

She reminded herself internally that as long as she had bread, everything else would follow. Benjamin was someone she shouldn't even dream about. It was time to stop thinking about him and focus on being a good person and doing good work.
