I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 96

Chapter 96 Scandal

Isaac smiled faintly and said, "No reason, just a man's intuition."

Harper frowned slightly and said, "You've never been in love, what it feels like to fall in love with someone?"

"Harper, are you questioning my vision as a man?" Isaac asked.

"I didn't question your vision. I didn't think you could see Benjamin's thoughts." Harper replied.

"Have you forgotten what I majored in college?"

He asked lightly, but Harper fell silent.

Because she knew Isaac had studied the psychology in college.

Isaac looked at her and smiled, "Is the reason for your and Benjamin's divorce just because of Lauren?"

"He promised to marry her." Harper responded.

"That's it?" Isaac asked.

Harper's face changed slightly, and her tone became cold as she replied, "Isn't this enough? Since one wants to marry someone without hesitation, isn't it because of love?"

"This is just your point of view. Love might not be the only reason for a man to marry. Duty or some other goal might also play a role."

Isaac's words confused Harper. How could someone have responsibility if they didn't love each other?

As for some kind of goal, what kind of goal could it be?

Harper just smiled and said nothing.

Isaac had not continued to talk about it. After all, only the parties involved could know the most about matters of love and marriage.

Isaac said, "Come up with me. Cole asked me to bring you gifts. My mother also made your favorite cookies. I didn't want to bring it on the plane, so I expressed it to the hotel. I just received them this afternoon."

"They are very kind to me. You didn't even prepare a gift for me. I have to be your driver. It makes me sad just thinking about it."

"Are you complaining about me?"

"Don't be cruel to me, or you may be kicked out of the house by Cole again."

Harper snorted softly, pushed open the car door, and entered the hotel's door with Isaac.

In order to avoid misunderstanding, Harper didn't even enter his room. She stood at the door, and said to Isaac, "I won't go in if you get your stuff out."

Isaac was confused.

Harper said, "It's so late. It would be trouble if we were photographed. After all, I am married."

"Okay, you stand here and wait."

He glanced at her lightly, entered the room, took a bag of gifts, and handed it to her. "You hurry up and leave, married woman."

"You rest early, let's have a meal together tomorrow."

"Haven't we already eaten?"

"He wants to invite you to have a meal together."

She looked at Isaac and explained to him.

Isaac frowned and laughed softly. "Why did he invite me to a meal? In what name did he invite? Your husband?"

Harper didn't say anything and stared at him.

Isaac continued, "Then what is my identity? Your family?"

Harper said faintly, "Are you going to eat?"

Isaac smiled and said, "Of course. Mr. Martin invited me for dinner, so naturally, I had to participate. Let him come over to pick me up."

Harper didn't answer but glanced at him lightly. "Do your fans know that you behave like this in private?"

Isaac was completely different in private than in public and on the screen. His fans didn't know his character in private.

After Harper finished speaking, she didn't wait for his reply and turned around to leave.

Looking at her back, Isaac smiled and instructed, "Drive safely."
