"I can't fall back asleep after I wake up, so I may as well get up, " Cherry told him politely, smiling.
Jackson was obviously still worried about Grandpa and asked, "Grandpa, how are you feeling this morning? Would you like to go to the hospital?"
Andrew waved his hand and said, "No, no need for that, I'm fine. You two don't need to worry about me."
Jackson was still worried. He sat beside Grandpa and said seriously, "I suggest we have a thorough check-up to make sure."
Cherry agreed with Jackson, "I think that is the best thing to do Grandpa. We should make an appointment for you Grandpa."
Andrew shook his head, "I know better than you two what is best for me. It doesn't matter, I'm fine. You two don't need to worry about me."
Then he took Jackson's hand, looking at both his grandchildren, and sincerely assured them, "I know you think it's best for me, but I'm okay, honestly. Please, don't worry about me anymore."
Jackson and Cherry had no choice but to drop the idea of bringing Grandpa to the hospital.
"Grandpa, I'll go and see if Lily has breakfast prepared yet, " said Cherry.
"Okay, " Andrew nodded.
Then she headed off to the kitchen. Seeing Lily bustling about the kitchen, Cherry asked, "Lily, is breakfast ready yet?"
"Madam, It'll be ready in just a minute." respectfully replied Lily.
"Okay, then I'll go wake Joe up, " said Cherry.
"Okay, Madam, " replied Lily.
Cherry went upstairs to wake Joe.
Cherry found her son was fast asleep when she opened the door to his room. She walked over to his bed, and said softly, "Joe, rise and shine, it's time to get up!"
She went to the window and pulled the curtains open, allowing the sun to stream in.
The bright rays of the sun came shining through the window. Joe squinted as the light hit his sleepy eyes. He rubbed them, reluctantly sitting up leaning on one hand. He asked, "Mommy, it's so early, can't I sleep longer?"
Cherry sat on the bed's edge, looking at him, and said, "Sweetie, you went to bed so early last night, do you really need more sleep?"
"Well, no, I'm not that sleepy, but, it's weekend! I thought I could sleep in a little longer today." said Joe.
"Where are you off to today?" Cherry asked him casually.
"Why are you asking? Do you want to come with me?" asked Jackson smirking at her, then he added, "I'm meeting with Derek and some other friends."
"Oh, I see, " replied Cherry lightly. She wasn't planning on going with him. She had a mission of her own; to accompany her son to the amusement park.
Jackson captured Cherry's tiny waist with his arms, and pulled her close, a wicked grin showing on his face as he asked, "Do you want to come with me today? We've married a long time, but, you haven't met any of my friends yet."
Cherry looked at Jackson, "Don't you remember, I am taking our son to the amusement park today?"
Cherry reminded him that her day was already planned.
Jackson grumbled, "In your heart, you only think of Joe."
Cherry hadn't thought Jackson would be upset about Joe. She thought maybe, she had worded things wrong, so she explained again, "That's not true. It's just that I promised Joe."
Jackson wasn't actually angry with Cherry, he was just teasing her.
After helping Jackson with his tie, Cherry gently whispered, "You are the only man that I have served, how can you think I don't think of you or keep you utmost in my heart? Why are you jealous of your son? Joe is our son, don't you love him as much as I do?"
