I'm a Cheerleader novel Chapter 9

Sammie's POV

Practice Practice Practice! In geometry, I was too busy thinking about football to pay attention to Alexis. Even though she was upset about something.

Then in biology, Vincent kept poking me with a pen to get my attention. So now I have ink marks all over my neck. Gym was a blast! Mason jogged with us! Can't you hear the sarcasm? I don't know why but Mason annoys me. And he annoys me more by trying to be all buddy-buddy with me. And now it's lunchtime. Vincent hasn't shown up so it's just me. Derrick got sick today. I guess Vincent went to sit with his boyfriend.

"Hey." a voice said.

I look up and it's Alexis and she gave me a weak smile. I would have smiled but I wasn't in the mood. She sat down in front of me.

"Why aren't you sitting with Veronica and her stank friends," I asked and she got flustered.

"Well you seemed lonely," she said.

"I am," I said, poking at my food.

"Sup." a voice said behind me.

I turned around and it was Vincent. My heart started pounding really fast. He didn't go sit with his boyfriend? Then he smiled at me then Alexis and him glared at each other. He took a seat by me.

"Why aren't you sitting with your boyfriend?" I asked.

"Oh. You heard him ask me to sit with him?" he asked.

I didn't even know he asked. "Um no," I said.

"Oh well I told him at lunch I sit with my friends," he said smiling at me then he glared at Alexis. "And you're not one of them, why are you here?" he asked.

"I thought you left Sammie alone," Alexis said with a shrug.

"Well I'm here now," he said. "Shoo," he said, making her glare.

"Am I a dog to you?" she asked.

"Yes," he answered and I coughed to hide my laugh.

She slanted her eyes at him. "I had something important to say and you didn't show up," she said before taking a bite out of her burger.

"I'm sorry I had something else better to do," he said as Mason came to the table.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as he sat down next to Vincent.

"I decided if you're not gonna sit with me I'll sit with him," he said smiling.

I almost gagged. Why did he have to be here?

"Aw, so kind of you!" Vincent said happily.

"Anything for you babe." Mason winking.

"Shut up!" I yelled standing up.

The whole cafeteria was staring at me now.

"Sam-Sammie," Vincent said shocked.

I felt my eyes burning. My chest hurt. I don't understand why I'm pissed I just-

"Ugh!" I yelled then left and stormed into the boy's bathroom.

I stared into the mirror. I don't understand what's going on with me. The door opened and it was Vincent of course.

"Go away," I said, not turning to him. I didn't want him to see me like this.

"Sammie," he said and I heard his footsteps coming closer. I felt warmth. What surprised me is that he was hugging me. "Sammie I'm sorry if I did anything to hurt you," he whispered.

"Vincent," I whisper. "Go to Mason," I said trying to hold back my cry.

"Huh?" he said letting go as I turned around.

"I said go to Mason I don't want you being upset because of me. Go with him and be happy." I said wiping my eyes.

He stared at me. "I'm not leaving until you're okay," he said ruffling my hair.

My face heated up. I stood on my tippy toes. What am I doi-

"Hey is everything alright?" Mason asked busting in.

If I wasn't frozen like Anna right now I would be beating him up.

"No could you give us some time," Vincent said which shocked me.

Mason looked a bit sad. Hahaha, bitch! "Uh yeah," he said, opening the door and leaving.
