Chapter 1237
Zack glanced back at Comelia in the back seat. “What’s he up to? Kicks you out in the middle of the night, then regrets it the next day?”
“Don’t overthink it, maybe there’s just no parking spots over there Zack, drive a bit further, let’s park somewhere else Cornelia didn’t want to jump to conclusions. Zack was already on the same page, he floored it and the car shot out of the parking space. He took another turn before finally parking next to the elevator
No sooner had they parked, Marcus‘ car followed. This time, Marcus‘ driver blocked their car, making it impossible for them to move.
Zack was pissed and wanted to curse out loud, but Cornelia stopped him, “Ignore them, the trial is about to start, let’s go
Cornelia got out of the car, Marcus did the same and they both headed for the elevator.
Zack and Abigail followed Cornelia, but were blocked by Jayden, President Hartley has a few words for Cornelia, you guys wouldn’t mind taking the next elevator, right?”
Zack yelled. “Who the hell are you? And who the hell is President Hartley? What does he think Nelly is, some sort of pet that comes when called?”
Abigail pulled him back, “Zack, calm down! If Marcus has something to say to Nelly, let him say it. Better have him get it all out now, so he won’t bother Nelly later.”
Jayden added, “Right, the girl’s got a point. This should be the last time President Hartley sees Cornelia. There won’t be another chance.”
Abigail sarcastically quipped, “Really? Is President Hartley getting remarried so soon?”
“President Hartley is deeply in love with Cornelia, there’s no way he’d marry another woman”
“Deeply in love? He’s worthy? Don’t Insult the phrase” Zack scoffed.
Jayden didn’t like his president being bad–mouthed, but it was hard to explain, “Whatever, what’s the point of arguing with you clueless idiots.”
They would never understand how heartbroken President Hartley was when he saw Cornelia leave with the divorce papers last night, he almost lost it.
Even though he’d seen all sorts of situations with Marcus, Jayden still shuddered thinking about last night. In that moment, he wanted nothing more than to bring Cornelia back to Marcus and tell her the truth, but he couldn’t. He could only watch Marcus suffer unbearable pain. Jayden didn’t dare to think further.
Zack snapped, “Who are you calling an idiot?”
Abigail held him back again, “Zack, don’t lose your temper.”
“I’m not losing my temper, I just can’t stand their shamelessness. Marcus has wronged Nelly and now he’s clinging onto her. How dare he hurt Nelly like this? Damn, I really want to give him a good beating”
“But how are you going to beat him if you can’t even get near him?” Abigail asked.
*L…” Zack was at a loss for words. It was all because he wasn’t strong enough, he couldn’t even protect the people he cared about. Zack looked up. Through the clear glass, he could see Cornelia and Marcus waiting for the elevator
