Impulsive Vow to an Enigmatic Husband (END) novel Chapter 1409

Daniela, this woman had been living the life of Riley since day one. She always got whatever she wanted. And there's someone to clean it up whatever mess she got into. And since she got away with bloody everything, Daniela might do something super risky. So, to protect herself, Hannah needed to find a way to save her own.
On the way to a meeting, she tried calling Steven again three times. And all she got was the same old story. Even though it was broad daylight, Steven's phone was still off. What a cold fish he was!
Steven ignoring her calls might mean he was cool with Daniela setting her up. She couldn't pin her hopes on him anymore. As for Cornelia and Marcus, Marcus couldn't even take care of himself right now, let alone help her. After much thought, she turned to Jarvis, whose contact info she was just added. Jarvis was from a big shot family in the capital, and he had definitely got the clout to help her out. So, she shot Jarvis a message: [Hey, can we video chat?]
Instead of replying with a text, Jarvis called her on video. "You summoned me. I gotta respond. What's up, darling?" Jarvis asked.
Hannah flashed a smile, "I'm in a bit of a pickle."
Jarvis said, "Oh..." From his tone, she could tell he had probably seen the news, but he didn't seem keen on helping.
Hannah asked, "Can we make a deal?"
Jarvis replied, "A deal? Can't you live without making deals?"
Hannah laughed, "If I'm not making deals, do you really expect me to talk feelings with you?"
Jarvis said, "We certainly don't have feelings."
Hannah asked, "So, will you help me?"
Jarvis seemed to be in a car. He adjusted to a comfortable position and said, "This time it's the Salazar family from Harbor City after you. You must know they're big fish there. Not many can beat them."
Hannah said, "Even though we just met, I know the power and influence your family holds. If you help me, Daniela will surely back off out of respect for you."
Jarvis said, "If I help you, what's in it for me?"
Hannah said, "I own a multi-million dollar property in Riverton, Blueshell Mansion, next to Marcus from the Hartley family. If you help me through this crisis, I'll give it to you."
Jarvis asked, "Do you think I need a house?"
Hannah said, "You may not need a house, but you need a chance to get close to Cornelia. After they return to Riverton, Cornelia and Marcus might settle in the Blueshell Mansion. Wouldn't it be convenient if you lived there too?"
Using her good friend Cornelia as bait might be wrong, but it was the only thing Hannah could think of that might tempt Jarvis.
Jarvis chuckled, "Hannah, are you losing your marbles? The Hartley Group has declared bankruptcy and there are even rumors that Marcus is dead. I've looked into it and he's very much alive. Can you spill the beans about why he's faking his death?"
