Granny Rebecca spoke again, “As for the thing about you two having kids, I, as an elder, should not intervene. You guys should decide it yourselves. Now, Nelly, you step outside first, I need to have a chat with Marc.” 

Cornelia clung tightly to her granny’s arm, her rosy face pressed against her, said with full affection, “Granny, I’m the link between you two. You wouldn’t shoo me away, right?” 

Usually, whenever Comelia played coy, Granny Rebecca would always cave, but this time she was unusually adamant, stating that Cornelia should not listen, and she meant it. 

Seeing the two refusing to back down, Marcus stepped in to mediate, “Cornelia, I think we should respect Granny’s wishes…” 

Before he could finish, the usually obedient Cornelia lifted her head, glaring at him angrily, “Of course you want me to respect Granny’s decision. She wants to keep you. If Granny wanted to keep me and had you leave, you’d start singing a different tune.” 

Marcus was speechless. 

Just a short while ago, he had complimented her for being understanding; he didn’t expect her to become unreasonable so quickly. 

Women’s minds were truly hard to fathom. 

Granny Rebecca, “Nelly, don’t vent your frustration on Marc.” 

“Granny, you’re playing favorites! Now that you have Marcus, you don’t love me anymore!” Cornelia stormed out of the room, planning to eavesdrop from the door. 

However, Granny Rebecca was well aware of her shenanigans, “Cornelia, close the door, then stand by the window where I can see you.” Not even letting her eavesdrop, what on earth did Granny want to talk to Marcus about? 

Once she confirmed that Cornelia was obediently standing outside the window, Granny Rebecca let out a long sigh, then said, “Marc, have you heard about the photo incident?” 

Marcus nodded, “Granny, you can rest assured. It will not affect Nelly and my marriage.” 

Granny Rebecca only asked one question, but Marcus had already answered her biggest concern, “Will it really not affect your feelings. for Nelly? You really don’t mind those photos? You really don’t care about what happened to Nelly in the past? You really don’t mind if Nelly’s reputation could influence you?” 

Granny Rebecca repeated her questions with a heavy tone and a determined look. Only by doing so could she force Marcus to reveal his true feelings. 

Cornelia was too important to her. She didn’t know how much longer she would live, so she wanted to pave the way for Cornelia in the last stage of her life. 

If Marcus was not Cornelia’s true partner, she wouldn’t mind if they divorced, but she couldn’t let Cornelia take the risk.
