He just wanted to smooch her! How could he say it so bluntly? 

Cornelia, startled quickly looked around, thanking her lucky stars that everyone was busy minding their own business, no one noticed them, “This place is crowded, it’s not very appropriate Let’s save it for home” 

Marcus playfully picked up a strand of her hair, sniffed it at the tip of his nose, and said, “Alright” 

Comelia dared not look at him she kept her head down and continued texting in the group chat 

When they sent out that photo, there was no doubt that the two grannies and Patricia would shower them with compliments again, praising them to the high heavens. 

After the grannies and Patricia finished their praises, the usually quiet Briana sent a message: [Grannies, and Patricia, did you see the way my brother was looking at Cornelia 

Granny Luisa replied [What’s up with his look?] 

Briana replied [it’s like a wolf looking at a lamb, as if he could gobble up Cornelia any second. How come I never noticed this side of my brother before?] 

Cornelia quickly checked the photo. She hadn’t realized it before, but with Briana’s reminder, she did feel like Marcus was looking at her as if he wanted to eat her up. 

Cornelia rushed to click the photo, trying to retract the message, but it was past the retraction time. Annoyed, she looked at Marcus, “Why were you looking at me like that?” Marcus asked, “What happened?” 

Comelia said, “Just check the group chat.” 

Marcus immediately opened his phone and quickly read through all the messages, “You are indeed gorgeous, is it wrong for our family to compliment your beauty?” 

Cornelia angrily said. “That’s not what I’m talking about!” 

Marcus asked, “Then are you talking about our selfie?” 

Cornelia said, I’m not some kind of food” 

Marcus pulled her into his arms, his laughter shaking his chest, “Cornelia, do you know in my eyes, you are more tempting than food 

Cornelia raised an eyebrow at him, “So what if you find me tempting? You can only look, but you don’t have the guts to eat” 

Marcus asked, “What did you say?” 

Cornelia said, “Nothing. Are you guys going to play cards later?” 

Marcus said, “I don’t feel like playing anymore, let’s just go home.” 

Cornelia said, “They’ve traveled all this way to Riverton, isn’t it a bit rude not to play cards with them?” 

Marcus said, “Do you think Steven and Lucas are still in the mood to play?” 

Following Marcus” gaze, she saw that Steven and his wife and Lucas and his wife were already hugging tightly. It seemed like their world probably didn’t have room for anyone else at that moment. They definitely weren’t in the mood for cards. 

Only Zavier was still sitting in the corner, chain smoking, as if cigarettes were his whole world.
