Impulsive Vow to an Enigmatic Husband (END) novel Chapter 846

“Ouch!” Cornelia’s eyes welled up with tears, almost falling down. His grip was strong. Even with little force, it was painful enough to make her wince.
‘Sorry Marcus quickly let go, “There are a lot of books in the study. Maybe you’ll find something you like?”
Comelia, clutching her sore wrist, snapped back, “I don’t want to read!”
Marcus. “Then what would you like to do? You tell me, and I’ll have it arranged.”
Cornelia, “I want to go home.”
Marcus, “This is your home.”
Comelia, “This is your home, not mine.”
Seeing the sorrow in his eyes behind those silver framed glasses, Cornelia felt like she might have gone too far. She moved closer, leaning into him, “You scared me with your harsh tone and hurt me. I was just trying to get back at you. Hug me now, and I’ll stay.”
Marcus didn’t move to embrace her, his gaze shadowed behind his glasses.
Cornelia never thought her request for a hug would be rejected. Embarrassed, she blurted out, “You’re not going to hug me, are you? If you don’t, I’m leaving”
With those words, she pretended to walk away. But before she could take a step, Marcus pulled her back. Holding her tight in his arms, he murmured into her ear, “Cornelia, this is your home. I’ve had someone fetch your stuff from the rental. It’ll all be moved here soon.”
Cornelia, “What did you say?”
Marcus didn’t mind repeating, “I said this is your home. You won’t have to go back to that rental. I’ve sent someone to fetch your stuff.”
Cornelia shoved him angrily, “Marcus, who gave you the right to move my stuff without my permission?”
She tried to call Zack and tell him to stop anyone from moving her things. But before she could, her phone was snatc h e d away by Marcus.
“It’s too late.” He glanced at the time, “The movers are almost back”
Cornelia was furious, “Marcus!”
Marcus, “Cornelia, you’re my wife. We’re married. Shouldn’t we be living together? Why do you insist on going back?”
Cornelia retorted, “Is that really what I’m upset about? I’m angry because you moved my stuff without asking me. Even as a married couple, there should be respect and space.”
“I can accommodate you in other aspects, but you must listen to me on this.” He couldn’t bear to be apart from her, to see her move back to the rental, to bear another day without her.
Cornelia was too heated to listen, “You’d better have your staff move my stuff back, or we’re getting a divorce.”
She tried to wriggle out of his grasp, but she was no match for him. As long as he held on, she couldn’t leave.
At the mention of “divorce”, Marcus lost all rationale. He threw her onto the desk.
A rough kiss followed.
She pushed him, kicked him, hit him, but couldn’t stop him. His presence was like a mountain over her, inescapable.
Hannah’s words echoed in her ears, “Cornelia, Marcus, Steven, Zavier, and Lucas are not what they seem. Once we marry them, unless they let go, death is the only escape,”
