Marcus draped his jacket over Cornelia, “Alright, I won’t touch you. Take a breather, maybe we can head home first, cool?”
Cornelia snapped back, “I told ya, it ain’t my home.”
Marcus was pretty stubborn about this issue. He knew exactly what to say to calm her down, but he chose not to. “Cornelia, we’re legally married. Whether you like it or not, we’re family. My home is your home. I belong to you, and everything I have is yours. We’re in this together. No one can tear us apart…”
Cornelia retorted, “I don’t want that!”
While they were arguing. Zack drove up in a rush. He slammed on the brakes, stopping the car next to Cornelia, then got out, glaring at Marcus. “What the hell did you do to Cornelia?”
Cornelia knew their argument would only get more complicated with Zack involved. She opened the car door and quickly got in the passenger seat, “Zack, let’s get outta here.”
Without any explanation from Cornelia, Zack drove them home. He knew something must’ve happened between Cornelia and Marcus, but he didn’t ask. After driving for a while, Zack noticed a limited-edition luxury car tailing them. Not many people in the world could afford such a car. So, Zack immediately knew who it was, “Marcus has been tailing us.”
Cornelia didn’t respond.
Zack lost his temper, slamming his fist on the steering wheel, “What the hell did he do to you? I’m gonna give him a piece of my mind!”
Cornelia stared ahead, still silent.
Zack continued, “Cornelia, talk to me!”
Cornelia asked, “My stuff at home, you didn’t let anyone move it, did you?”
Zack replied, “I ain’t a fool, I wouldn’t let anyone touch your stuff without your say-so.”
Cornelia, “Alright…”
Seeing her downcast expression, Zack couldn’t help but say, “You gotta talk normal. Don’t let a man get you down like this. He’s just a part of your life. Even without him, you gotta live your life.”
Zack was frustrated, just a few days ago, he thought Cornelia had found a good man. He was disgruntled, but he accepted it.
How long had it been since then? The guy was already hurting her!
Cornelia said, “Abby’s coming home tonight.”
Zack snapped, “Don’t change the subject.”
Cornelia continued, “I haven’t had a BBQ in a long time. Let’s have a BBQ tonight, just the three of us.”
Zack said, “Cornelia, running away isn’t the answer. No matter what happens, you gotta face it.”
Cornelia said, “Abby told me Nash’s family really likes her. She might bring Nash to meet her parents soon. By then, you can also go back to Rosenberg and see your parents.”
Zack exclaimed, “Cornelia!”
Cornelia was willing to talk about anything but Marcus, “As for the studio’s loss, I haven’t got compensation from Clair Dennis yet. But that’s okay, I made some money out of it. We can use that money for the studio’s renovation. You just need to contact the renovation company.”

Zack said, “I’ve been handling the renovation, you don’t need to worry about that. Tell me, what’s going on between you and Marcus? Why is he following us?”
Cornelia also saw the luxury car in the rearview mirror, Marcus must have been driving it himself, “I don’t wanna talk about him right now.”
