Chapter 984
She'd be so smitten with others’ kids that she'd forget all about him.
If they had their own child, her eyes would be glued to the kid, and he'd become invisible to her. Marcus didn't want that.
Cornelia nodded enthusiastically, "I'd love that! Absolutely love it!
Could we have two kids, just two, a boy and a girl, okay?"
Marcus said, "Cornelia."
Cornelia asked, "What?"
Marcus continued, "That kid was super cute, but did you see how much his mom has to sacrifice? She gave up her job for him, and she's stuck with a man who doesn't treat her right. Why would she have a kid for a guy like that?"
Cornelia said, "But you're not that kind of guy!"
Marcus said, "I'd hate to see you get the short end of the stick after having a kid.”
Cornelia said, "Stay-at-home moms often work harder than people with jobs. Jobs have break times, but moms are on call 24/7. But because of the society we live in, many people, including the moms themselves, feel inferior because they don't have a job and feel like they're not contributing to the family.’
Marcus said, "The Women's Support Group we talked about, I think it should be implemented not just within the Hartley Group, but also in society, to help more women.’
Cornelia said, "Once I'm back from Rosenberg, I'll get onto it.’
Marcus raised a hand to gently stroke her forehead, "Cornelia, keep fighting the good fight, and do whatever you want to do. Don't be held back by family.’
Cornelia said, "Jeremy!"
Marcus asked, "What?"
