As a rich and important family, the Wilson family was protected by a highly trained team. So, Leon was not the guard’s match in strength.
If the guard exerted his utmost power to hit Leon’s temple, Leon would be dead for sure. Leon buried his head in his hands, sort of subconsciously.
At this critical moment, a dark figure came toward them, lightning fast! He was Charles!
“Who is he?” Jerome shouted out, and his face turned white.
Next second, the guard flew away and slammed into a glass door. The door shattered and broke into fragments. The guard fell to the ground outside the Domon SPA, mortally wounded. Everyone looked at Charles with their mouth open and their eyes seemed to jump out of their head.
But Charles, the center of attention, walked to Baron’s side calmly, like nothing ever happened.
When James saw Charles, his heart was beating fast. He remained horrified by images of his first meeting with Charles at Neon Nights.
Jerome was immersed in thought, looking very somber, because not only James, the Neon Nights’ boss, was willing to follow Baron, and the strong man, who easily defeated his better-trained guard, was Baron’s man too. Jerome turned his eyes back to Baron and was curious about his identity.
Leon looked at Charles, then at the guard, who was still laying on the ground, bleeding profusely. He stunned, swallowing hard.
For a long while, there was a total silence in the hall. Baron first broke the silence. He said, “Let’s settle the bill for the damage, Jerome! You man hurt my manager, so you should compensate for his medical bills. Apart from that, you have to pay for that broken door. Add up that together, you have to pay me 10 million dollars. And that account must be settled within 10 minutes. Or you’re never getting out of here.”
For a moment James was so shocked to hear that. He looked at Baron curiously and was worried about him. Baron’s man hit Jerome’s guard. Jerome wouldn’t let Baron off the hook so easily this time. But to his great surprise, Baron asked Jerome to pay for the damage.
Jerome wanted the same thing and the scowl on his face deepened. “You must be mistaken. It was your man who hit my bodyguard! And it was also your men who broke the glass door. But now you’re asking me to pay for the damage. This is ridiculous!” he said angrily.
“First, this is my place, so I get the final say! Second, your guard threw the first punch! Third, the glass door was smashed apart by your guard’s body. So, it is reasonable for you to pay for it!” Baron said coldly.
“You…” Jerome tried to argue back.
“Twenty million dollars!” Baron interrupted.
“I…” Jerome did not finish his sentence.
“Forty million dollars!” Baron continued.
“OK. Deal!” Jerome said. His eyes were blazing, though his voice remained calm.
No one had believed it when Jerome said OK. The Wilson family was always so high and mighty, but today Jerome, the heir to the family, compromised!
A grin spread slowly across Baron’s face. “You should have said yes sooner, Jerome! Two words cost you 30 million more. But I consider it your honor, because that means your words are worth a lot!”
